Anyone tried this under Dimes? It requires a download. Interesting article:

Honestly, I would not use something like this if you are worryed about security. Anyone running a Tor server can sniff packets and get any sensative information passing through their client. Someone could easily impliment ARP/DNS spoofing with a Tor server as well, and in effect "pretend" to be paypal, hotmail, yahoo, or whatever they want and grab your login info that way as well, therefore making SSL just as insecure as non-SSL connections through a Tor network.

I've used Tor and Privoxy in the past and was not impressed at all. Privoxy is nice, but the lack of good proxy servers makes it not worth the trouble. And Tor....well I see no need for it. Install it and run it, then do a trace route to something like free-dc.org. You will see it takes the exact same hops as it does with or without Tor running. You must use Tor in conjunction with some sort of proxy software like Privoxy for it to be really useful.

Just remember, when running a distributed networking enviornment, you are counting on all those participating to be legitmate and respectfull to others privacy. As we all know, this is not the case. I have indeed showed a proof of concept of all the info above to fellow friends of mine in the past to prove my point. It can and will be done by people. If you use programs like this, just be extra cautious on what info you send through their connections.

Oh and to answer your question...yes dimes should work fine with Tor.
