Bok's stats show us with an overtake date of 339 days.

Now I'm pretty impatient and I reckon we ought to cut that back.

So the name of the game is GHZ on DPAD.

If you have a windoze boxen or 10 and you want something exciting to aim at on a low maintenance project, here's where it's at.

Anandtech hit back yesterday and to my dismay beat us in the dailies for the second time in the month.

Whilst we are overtaking at a rate of 4.5 milion a week we could really do with expanding that to 6.5 million or hopefully a touch more.

A big welcome to Jeff as he joins our small but dedicated band of DPAD'ers.

I should be able to install DPAD on three or four more Athlon rigs this week. I just have to figure out how to install it as a service... which hopefully won't be too hard. ;)

Hey jeff, once you figure out how to install it as a service, let me know and I will be able to find some machines as well. Needs to be as a service though to keep some pesky student from closing it. It also needs to start up by itself when computer turns on.

Ok looking at the stats it looks like our current team configuration is good for a 5 million a week hit on Anandtech's lead over us.

The lead is give oor take 420 million so that's 84 weeks. :swear:

So we need to do something a bit more drastic than what we are doing , because I sense a not insignificant amount of attention deficit syndrome amongst the ranks of DC'ers. :o

So if we are to :beep: the boys of Anandtech and :stomp: their guts out this side of armageddon (didn't I mention the world could end before we get them and that would be a shame) we better find a bit more gas to go a hunting.

So we need to pimp some boxen.

Now i know I've pimped the project already at least twice so need alittle help from you other DPADers. Coerce your buddies, cajole your mates, brow beat your compadres, but, and i don't mean Targetbutt :Pokes: we do need a little extra gas to step on.

Approx how many points would an Athlon XP 2400 score in a day at this ?

I know the client only returns results every day or 2 depending on the amount of CPU's in the box.
Something in my memory is telling me a DUAL 2400 MP took approx 24 hrs to do 100k of results is this still the case ?

The gap to Anandtech stands at just over 400 million and we are closing at about 1.5 million a day, so 300 days should see us closing in on the lead in this project.

Let's hope we see a few more boxen hit the trail and we can put more pressure on Anandtech and The Cows. We all know they will try to respond as the end approaches.

We have seen a hell of a lot of crunching power this week.

PY still hitting some serious numbers everyday, hopefully Stephen will sort out the glitch and reinstate the missing mill.

I've managed to grab a few more boxen and have got to my ambition of a mill a day.

IB's deployed another box and could crest 1/4 mill next week.

Lauren might hit 5 mill next week and hopefully DesertFolk will hit 2.5 mill again.

Excaliber should hit around the 100k mark and Meep hopefully should exceed 1.5 mill.

Sts950 is very close to doing 1 mill a week and PCZ is looking good to hit maybe 2.5 if Dimes doesn't take the egde off.

Angus is still keeping 150k going for us and we know he has some more if he feels inclined to roast some Cow.

Beyond dumped 200k and hopefully will do the same in the coming weeks. :thumbs:

Good to see BC55, Thor, Alpha and N7vxj, 70, 30, 50 and 90k respectively.

Great team effort to have hit 26.3 million in the last 7 days with more time still to go today.

We exceeded Anandtech by 10 million this week.

Looks like Teejay might be putting some of his 30GHZ pharm our way, soon.

What a week we had this week, we took a huge 18 million chunk out of Anandtech's lead.

Over the last 28 day period we have :stomp: them for just under 50 million.

We have a few modifiers to this also, PY has some points owing due to some stats glitch and Meep hasn't :dump: his weeks work. :Pokes:

Be careful of Muon Cockpit, it has caused the files to be left in Read Only mode, so the application can't write to it, and when you go look, it sitting there in the DOS box waiting for you to press Retry, Abort or Fail.

Now that is funny Because I started out 40 years ago as a Electrician I quite it after about 8 years when I almost Killed myself on the high end of a 3 faze 220 line.
Then Did Carpentry for 15 Years Became a master stair builder
Then went into Plumbing trade for the Money and have been doing it for the past 18 years

I must say Plumbing of all trades pays the best.

Sorry, I meant that the dump was ~20 mil points credit. I don't remember how large (only one) results.txt file was. It was from a single Barton at 2.4 GHz that was running offline for about 6 to 7 months. Maybe you can better extrapolate from that. :)

I too, like Amaroque have my primary systems on UPS. The more hardcore of them are on a UPS I bought in 1995, and only recently had to replace the battery in for a mere $80. That same 15k APC box cost over $500 back then, and these days can be found for under $100.

Damn good insurance, if you ask me.

aside: For a while when I was living in a shitbox of a house in Silicon Valley, I also had my TV and cable box hooked up to it. When the power went out (which was rather frequently) I was a happy camper. :hiya:

I was figuring you had 20-25 fast dual core machines (that would give you about the same output).

So, with the newer TA recruits we are catching up, albiet slowly. I've done things to computers in the name of DPAD this week that I should be tried for. I started crunching DPAD exactly 45 days ago, and it's a pleasant diversion from BOINC. A new DC manangement syetem to learn, if you will. :D

But in crunching battles, sometimes there is collateral damage. If you saw my workbench(es) right now, you all would cringe. And then start grabbing parts, damnit. :mouserun:

However, beware TAS We're a helluva force recon team and we've been re-re-deployed. :D

Distributed computing is just that, distrubited. You have some big crunchers here, but you cannot compete with the power of say 100 ppl with an average (just an estimate) of 4-6 boxen each! For example: You Lauren are only 3.42% of the worldwide DPAD production!

We will just keep adding ppl until you are out of extra boxen to add. It's that simple. :lmao:
