My clients are showing:
WARNING: org.dom4j.DocumentException: Error on line 1 of document : White spaces are required between publicId and systemId.

That means the Server has crashed according to this.

I found this with a Google search

Those are problems that are caused periodically by our server. It will
be resolved in the next couple of hours.
you can restart the agent and see if it is ok , but even if you don't-
it will recover by itself.

The Netdimes Server seems to have fallen off the Internet.

What i wan't to know is who broke it :rotfl:
Personally i'm gonna blame ELF :)

It's back up and running again.
I just renamed all my VMs on my x2-4400, all at 80mb each, and client set to 15 sec intervals.
Once I get a benchmark of what they do, I'll drop a few down to 64mb to see what affect it has, then bump them up from 80mb to see what happens again ;)
Also, I'll add a couple more and reduce from 12 to see what that does to (with 2gb of ram in this one)
The clients do appear to be working ok, at least the ones I spot checked.

My clients seem to be running again.
Haven't checked them all though.

This is troubling though

Warning: mysql_pconnect() [function.mysql-pconnect]: Host 'b14.evergrow.iucc.ac.il' is blocked because of many connection errors; unblock with 'mysqladmin flush-hosts' in /var/www/html/DIMES/data.php on line 173
Host 'b14.evergrow.iucc.ac.il' is blocked because of many connection errors; unblock with 'mysqladmin flush-hosts'

Results might be going down the pan :(

Well, I fubar'd the elf00 account which is all the VMs :(
I renamed it on one VM, now all the other VMs aren't showing any scores.
renamed elf_x4400vm2 back to elf00, stopped the client, uninstalled, re-installed and called it elf_x4400vm2.
I hope the other VMs start racking up points again, without losing anything in the process.

I seem to remember Micro$ saying that performance for Win2K was maximised at around 98M memory? Long time ago now so memory may be a bit inaccurate and it may not bother VMs as much.
Definitely smaller points from my VMs though than from the main (XP) OS.

It's at it again <sigh>

And, I have succesfully tested different memory limits, under w2k.
48mb VM works fine for a Dimes Client,
96mb VM made no difference,
128mb VM made no difference.
I run mine with 64mb.

Too many VMs bog down other projects.
06 VMs w/1GB, seems optimal w/Rosetta
16 VMs w/2GB, works ok w/Rosetta
24 VMs w/3GB, room for more ;)

How did the 48Mb VMs respond for you? I thought I tried that in the past and I thought I remember it bogging down the hard drive. If memory serves, it works Ok until you try to load up 24VMs... maybe?

Just curious how you made out... maybe I was confuzeled back when I tried it. :D

The VM itself would of course be slow, having to swap everything to disk, but if left alone, the Dimes client output remained the same as those with 96mb.
Having 24 VMs running on any one computer would become sluggish I would think.
The NIC can only do so much and would become a bottleneck at some point.
I needed some bandwidth back so I could continue to play online games, so have throttled back on the total VMs I run recently. ;)

Ah... was wondering why I was catching you in daily output. ;)

You`ll have to invest in some more lines IB and a good trunk capable router and amalgamate them all
Remeber the old Shotgun times with 2 telephone modems?
Most boards now have 2 nics/phys at Gb, all you need is a decent Gb switch with trunking and a router and ISP who doesn`t mind you agregating them all up  :hiya: :smoking:

Funny how I can tell when all the clients aren't working well without having to go look. :( ;)

You BROKE the Server

Something to do with web pages loading faster perhaps :)

Seriously we cant hold back the tide on our own.
How about we take a break from this. ?

I'd say reduction in force is ok, until we get more interest/help.
You holding off Jeff and I holding off the next few competitors just ain't cutting it that's for sure.
I could do with some useful bandwidth for awhile ;)
Down to 60 over here now.

Reduced clients alot, Re-booted the router, and waited a couple hours, checked again, no dropped packets.
Now I'm up to 56 clients and will check it in the morning.
Evidently, trying to run more than the router can handle is counter productive so will look for the sweet spot until the smoothy shows up this Wednesday.
Then I'll see how that goes.

How about we take a break from this. ? Hey you slacktard! ;) I said reduction in force is ok not quit. :looney: :D

I'm getting good consistent output with the clients I have now, without too many dropped RX packets now.

You have to at least stay ahead of Helheim! :jester:

I got home a couple of hours ago, to find that my cable modem had had some indigestion fairly soon after I left this morning (of course).

Anyway, I reset the modem and router and went off & played games for awhile. Came back & looked and none of my clients had restarted automatically. They all said that, yeah, we noticed that the network connection was restored, but no, we just can't be bothered to restart. Had to restart them all manually. Not that I'm hosting a huge pharm these days, but still troublesome. :umm:
