Client can't update!

Hi all. My problem is that when a new Protein gets released none of my clients can update. I can send in units from all the machines but they can't update. Well firstly my problem was that i couldn't even send them in but i used my squid proxy here and then it allows them to be sent. This all seems werid because i've tried about 6 other Distributed Computing Projects and none of them have even needed the proxy as the internet is natted to all the computers.

DF must talk or connect to its servers differently to cause this and a fellow team member has had the same problem.

The DFP communicates on port 80 using the standard HTTP protocol. As for your squid proxy, due to its caching it will take a while before it acknowledges there is an update. I have added a command recently to tell it not to cache the file that tells it an update is available so your problem may already be solved.
