I see you are hitting DPAD really hard again, which is great, and Meep :dump: yesterday or Sunday too. Who knows what went on with the stats having their hiccup.

Anyways, today we are easily going to do 300k, more likely 400-500K which is great.

2 methinks. I decided my laptop was collecting dust so I dug it out, took UD off it and DPAD on. I also noticed an empty desk at work with a poor lonely Windoze box

Fozzie

which is great news and Lauren also exceeded 350k on his own which largely helped us break 600k in a day.

All this extra activity has helped us out produce both of the teams ahead of us.

Big welcome back to Edo :)

Hey Lauren, it's supposed to hit 103 here in Colorado today. It was 102 yesterday. It got so hot, my duallie shut itself down. I had to turn on the Central air, so there goes the electric bill through the roof!!!:swear:

My apologies if this is bad advice, but have you thought about underclocking? If I'm not mistaken, those last few megahertz are more expensive than the first few.

Maybe you should do some experimenting?

:fireboun:

To late I lost 4 systems to the heat But thats OK it will open 4 slots for 4 new X2 Duel core systems

The 12,000 Btu AC unit in the garage just could not coup with the heat and the 40+ systems running in there
With Air and the systems running the air temp inside W/ air was 97 OUCH
SO I will be at 1/2 speed till mid week or so. But then Push Push Push :bigtrain: :bigtrain: :bigtrain:
:umm: It is  that DPC, Ars, and AT are out permorming us there:swear:

A few Hrz will do nothing I am pumping 70+ Amps to the PC's  That is a lot of Power and heat

A few Hrz will do nothing I am pumping 70+ Amps to the PC's  That is a lot of Power and heat
My "few MHz" comment simply belied(I hope that's the right word) the fact that I don't have hard figures. To put it another way:

In a 2GHz machine(as an example), I'm thinking the second GHz takes more power than the first. So reducing the GHz knob temporarily may decrease heat while increasing throughput on a per watt basis.

Being inexperienced, I'm just throwing this out there.

:haddock: THINK about it jasong
The CPU heat is only 25 to 33% of the heat produces by a PC
You have powersuppy, diodes, capacitors, VGA chips or card, I/O chips, Fan's, Memory, Hard drives, Nic cards, routers, hubs, KVM's, That all produce HEAT:fireboun:

:haddock: THINK about it jasong:bonk:
How much Time would it take to go into the Bios of 40+ PC's and reduce the FSB reboot to make sure it worked and then go back in a few days and reset the FSB back again:bang: .
Lets say 4 min per PC that would be 15 per Hr SO it would take 3 Hr's to do it and 3 Hr's to undo it. 6 Hr's for both.
It only takes me 15 to 20 Min to do a shut down and 20 min to restart them

My "few MHz" comment simply belied(I hope that's the right word) the fact that I don't have hard figures. To put it another way:

Now that you have more fugues or factors to consider do you still THINK Reducing Ghz is the way to go:Pokes:

I guess not. Honestly, I've had, at most, two computers under my control, so I hadn't thought about it.

Oh, well. Heat waves don't last forever, so you'll probably be back up to speed in no time.

My first million should be only a couple of days away now. Just to let you know that I'll probably give DPAD a rest for a while once I get there. Also, I just broke 500,000 Gnodes on OGR, a huge milestone for me!

According to the DCR I need to work on SoB, RC5-72 (yeah, right), DPAD (done for now) and F@H. I did a little SoB earlier in the year so I'll probably go back to F@H for a while. See you there! :D

It seems I've been given back access to my own website from here. I've set the script to try and upload again. There is now a stats update for this morning.

Some progress! Apparently there are still loads of results on muon1.serveftp.org though which is where a lot of my results have gone lately.
