View Full Version : How do I switch BOINC to new hard drive without losing stuff?

I think my d: drive is flaky, so I'm backing up everything on it and reformatting it(I could use advice on THAT, too.)

What's the best way to switch BOINC over without breaking anything?

Jasong, I exit BOINC at the SysTray icon and save the BOINC folder to a USB drive. It is too big for a floppy.

There are no registry entries, so that's not a problem. You will need to use the same computer name on the new hard drive. If you lose the job in progress, at least you continue your statistics, etc.
