I'm sure more then one of you has tried to make Seti not appear as obviously on a computer, be it on a mates, at work or on your families computer.

But has anyone come up with a simple and workable solution to keep seti running without alerting a non-DC'er who might shut it down ???

I know Neon has it running on his sister's, using Seti stash on startup and having it invisible in sys-tray, but that still leaves the supscious gap in the system tray...

so it there a better way at concealing seti's presence ??

i don't even try and hide it anymore. i know you can run it as a service in nt/2k but i don't know if you can cache units.

maybe someone here knows how to do the same thing on win9x ?

I use SetiHide (http://www.scheit.de/seti/setihide.html) on my parents computer which is running Windows 98.

It will run completely hidden (not shown in the taskbar, or task manager) and it is should to be able to cache units. I coulnt get the caching to work with the last version but the current one may work :)
