The target for passing The Cows is Oct 25th for Bok's sprogs 1st birthday party.

We aren't going to do this as it stands.

We need some more power.

Helix you up for a weeks work on SoB?

Beyond fancy doing a set of WUs?

Anyone else got a little more power to swing this way.

Let's not disappoint a sprog on their birthday. :Pokes:

I WISH I could be erm you've obviously never heard of "Web Sense" that is the firewall I refered to. The machines I can freely access are DELL Optiplex GX110's - PIII 766's with 256mb of ram, running NT or 98se they run like **** as it is.
So No work borgage for me Im not in the mood to do what I used to do with Seti@Home - bounce files on and off a disc / memory stick...

Al i have is on SOB.

I even dipped into the pool of despair and pressed my Athlon MP's back into service.
They are extremely flakey and run as hot as the Sun.
I did get 3 running again but one has just burned up the ATX connector, all the red wires are now charcoal :(

Ouch! How much Juice you pull through the +12v line I think you'll probably find the board maybe hosed as well with internal track damage..
Fozzie I could move my XP2200+ over but I wanna keep something on F@H just as a tick over... I don't wanna O/C any of my procs as well I don't know how stable I could keep 'em..

I'll work on a weekend push on my cluster. May only run for 2 days but hopefully the 60 P4's can put up some good numbers.

CaptainMooseInc
10-05-2006, 03:25 PM
guru, remember that you must complete a WU to get credit for it. Otherwise if the WU doesn't report back within 30 days you lose all the credit you have gained. If you're only gonna run a cluster for 2 days then you need to add the QQQsecondpass tag after your username to pull down secondpass work units in hopes of gettin them done in 2 days (which would be a stretch).

So do: usernameQQQsecondpass in the username field for SoB program

Hopefully you'll get a couple done at least w/o wasting time to put SoB on them all just to lose the credit a month later.

you'll need to go to the Seventeen or Bust site and sign in to your preferences and witch over to Free DC at some point soon.

And CaptMoose is right you'l need to run the wus to completion to keep the credit.

Get them Cows before they stampede away

gopher

The red wires are 5v not 12v.
The Tyan Tiger that went down is powering both CPU's from the 5v line.

There are no auxilllary power plugs so it is not an incommon occurence for the ATX connector to melt.
A common mod is to solder extra 5v wires to the back of the ATX connector.

Later versions of the board use the 12v rail for CPU power and they also have the 4 pin auxillary plug.

Helix

How did you manage to do that.

Don't panic.

Stop the duplicate clients running.
You can leave one of the dupes running of course otherwise loose all points for WU.:(
Delete the duplicate z file from the Sob Directory.
go into the registry

hklm software LhDn
delete cache/cache 2 directory, depending which contans duplicate settings.

restart SOB
should pick up fresh WU's.

You are using the SOB service to run on your SMP boxes arent you ?

I'm not sure if your problem is resolved Helix so:

I don't know how to exactly solve your problem. When I first built my rig and tried running 4 clients, all 4 clients just kept using the same WU over and over and over. I just recently started running SoB again because of that reason and for some reason now it just doesn't do it anymore....

This is what I'd suggest though..

Stop one of the clients running the duplicate WU. Click CONFIG. Change your usernamed to have QQQsecondpass on the end of your name. Save config, click yes to clear the current WU. Then start the client again.

You'll pull a secondpass WU instead of a firstpass WU and then they'll be different. Once your other WU is done (first pass) the client will ask for a new WU but it'll change the name automatically over to have the QQQsecondpass on the end of it.

Then all you do is go back into the config file and remove QQQsecondpass and save and clear the WU. After that let both clients run their course with the first and secondpass WUs. Your client that you originally made QQQsecondpass will finish and ask for a new WU under the original username and you should be go to go from then on.

I think we are pretty much at full speed unless we can coerce Beyond and/or Maefly to run a set.

If you have a box or two that you can spare for 5 days then any extra wus would be heartily appreciated.

Why do you think the cow stats have Free-DC in position #6? Is that because Bok stats dont account for people switching teams (because sob stat feed doesnt provide it), or is it cow-rithmatic?

Those are obsolete stats. The producer of them lets them run but doesn't check it.

Free-DC is fourth there (and rising fast)

DPC is at 354T for today and we are at 44T. I expect though that they will not be #1 in today's output by days end. I just :dump:ed myself so that should be a few more G's for us.

Looks like Anadatech is ours in under 2.5 days. So long as we can keep our lead on them we should have DPC sometime the day of Halloween (if not before).

Team PrimeRib is still 201 days away though! I hope that gap closes faster.

It's because that stats engine doesn't cater for scores in P range.. and also they are computing the team totals by summing the individual users up (which is not correct for SoB.. I don't do that)

If you drill down on Free-DC I'm the top producer, moved up a spot when Condor went past 1P.

erm, I can't see anyone included us getting close to 354T today.. so I think you'll find they will be the daily top producer..

What is our normal daily output? I thought it was huge amounts of T's? Maybe not. :-p

That's just a massive :dump: on their part it seems. Their daily is around 11T while we're sitting at about 83T.

Oh well. 1 day at #2 won't kill us...

@Merepeer

The stats link you give: http://sob.qik.nl/index.php?more=team&type=overall
does indeed have problems with large numbers. Sometimes it drops a complete teamscore or as today a single user.

The daily DPC stats we currently use are over here (http://tadah.mine.nu/index.php?mode=Members&tabel=memberoffset&naam=&datum=2006-10-11&team=Dutch%20Power%20Cows&prefix=sob) or the team totals (http://tadah.mine.nu/index.php?mode=Teams&prefix=sob&tabel=teamoffset&datum=2006-10-11) .

Btw, :metal: for your daily scores the last weeks

Yes, it's a MegaFlush, one of our ol' reliable specialties. Just kidding, it's DPC's birthday and we're celebrating it by flushing on a few projects. SoB is one of them.
Nothing for you to worry about. You'll probably overtake us 2 days later than planned. We'll probably hit 500T today (hopefully, that was the intended target)

@DPC*
Thank you for clarifying those stats have gone out to pasture.

By the way, in case you want tell tell your moomaster, I arrived at that page by starting at this site:
http://www.dutchpowercows.org/

then clicking on "Seventeen or Bust" in the "Projecten" list which brings me here:
http://www.dutchpowercows.org/project.php?id=11

then clicking on "Teams Overall" in the "Stats" section.

In about 5 to 5.5 days, I'll be adding about 605G/day of output, but block updates will have been turned off, so you'll see my contributions in fits and starts. Also, for about 2 weeks, I'll be crunching as smactionISA, on both cpus, to finish paying back a Riesel Sieving debt.
