I just got a bigger hdd for one of my boxes, and want to transfer everything from the small hdd to the large one.How do I peacefully shut down SOB, so that once everything has been transferred, and I restart the machine, I haven't lost all of my work?

take a look at this app:

http://www.miray.de/products/sat.hdclone.html

it's exactly what you need.

1. clone your small hd on the big one.
2. test with only the new one in
3. keep your old one as is for one or two week ... (security)

I will be using MaxBlast to clone everything from one to the other.I just want to make sure that I'm not going to lose all my work, and have to start from scratch again!!

i have done exactly the same thing with my mother HD (2.5 giga to 40 giga) 3 years ago and i didn't had any problem (otherwise i would not be able to speak to you ... it had very important documents)

the best thing to do is clone your hd, but keep your old hd in a safe place for 1 or 2 week.

If you can see it on your taskbat just maximise it and click top and then exit.

If you are running non-interactive just stop the service from the services mmc.

Once you have cloned the drive you should then be able to start it up as normal all intact.

If there is any problem there is a post on the SoB forum to recover a previous job.
