Is there a Fogo de Chao restaurant in Chicago? It's a Brazilian churhascaria type place where they bring different cuts of meat around and slice it off onto your plate. You have a small round counter and turn it up for green if you want more and it just keeps on coming.... I visited the ones in Sao Paulo and Rio, before trying the one in DC last week. Awesome food if you like meat, though you end up probably eating 2lbs of meat. I particularly like the Filet. Had a very nice Malbec (or 3) with it last week too..

Just checked and there is one in Chicago - 661 N LaSalle St. Try it, expensive but you'll like it.. We paid about $600 for 4 people last week with tip, though half of that was on wine and a few select Scotches :p

$600 for 4 people!?!

That cow better be in the BACK near the grill still MOOing for those prices!

I just went from a $10,000/yr job to a $40,000/yr job but I REALLY wouldn't pay that much for some cow, wine, or scotch.

Give me a meal from Logan's Steakhouse and follow it up at home with a fifth of Yagermister.

Looks like everyone is eating cow in celebration.

I might consider going and getting some Black Angus Ground Sirloin tomorrow and make some hamburgers.

I don't think Ars Technica are within our compass, as it would mean a full team effort for another 8 months or so.

I think we have realistically reached the spot we are happy with .... for now.

I'm game even if it's just to hold #2 - I think in 8 months time we could all be up for some Prime Rib :lmao:

Bok,
I think we need to take some of these guys out more often. If $600 for a party of 4 w/ wine & Scotch is considered a lot, then we have our work cut out for us. Ever go to that 'little private club' up in Milwaukee ??? A GREAT place in spite of the location.... complete with valet parking (imagine, in Milwaukee???????) HAHA.

What would happen if we walked into Frye's in Arlington and dropped $3000 for parts and then drove to the other store (north Dallas) and picked up the rest of the parts (another $4500), and topped it off with a true fresh 12 oz. Filet Mignon cooked med-rare before heading home to start the build?

I shudder at the thought of such a 'group event'.

Regardless, I will be true to my word and push extra cpu cycles to SOB. I will migrate cores as other tasks (thesis #2 work) finish up or come to a logical holding point).

C.

PS: I will ponder a 'celebration training manual'... would you please do the same ??? :) :) :)
