Dear D2OL User,

As you probably already know we have released version 1.00 of our
D2OL client, which includes a number of upgrades and fixes influenced by our
users feedback in an effort to create a top-notch distributed computing
project. Among these new upgrades is the ability to set the size of your
candidate cache from a minimum of 10 to a maximum of 100 candidates and also
to turn off the animations on the GUI Agent, which will drastically reduce
the amount of system resources it uses. Dial-up modem users will now be able
to disable the ability of their clients to periodically check for an
established connection when they are offline. We hope that you will enjoy
these new features and other improvements we have made to your D2OL clients.

We have also released new clients for Mac OSX, Linux, and Solaris operating
systems. These clients have been well received so far and we are working to
bring them up to the level of our Windows clients, again with the help of
feedback from our dedicated users. There are also newly released command
line and file-controlled clients for each of our supported platforms. These
clients will allow you to get all of the information provided by the GUI
Agent from a command window. Details about these new clients can be found in
a ReadMe file in the directory where your D2OL client is installed. If you
have any friends or relatives who would like to donate their idle processor
time to a project like ours but have been waiting for clients which would
run well on Non-Windows operating systems, or if you have personally been
waiting for clients like these then now is the time to go out and download
these new clients and start crunching away!

There are a few known issues with these new clients that we would like to
make you aware of in an effort to eliminate any initial confusion the first
time you run them. To run the current command line version for Windows you
will have to make a minor adjustment to one of the installed files and user
inputted text will not be visible until the return button is hit. We have
also found an issue with some of our Linux clients running quickly through
their candidate queue but not doing any real processing work on the
candidates. We are working on these and a few other minor issues to make
your D2OL clients as stable and powerful as possible. You can download any
of these new clients at the D2OL website here
http://www.d2ol.com/dOL/download_instructions.html.

In addition, we would like to bring to your attention a new distributed
computing project that we have just launched - www.intelligentbroker.com

Intelligent Broker is based off the same CommunityOS DC platform used by
D2OL and Childhooddiseases.org but was developed to produce personalized
trading suggestions based off market data from a variety of information
streams (tick, fundamentals, and sentiment). Intelligent Broker currently
uses a cluster based computing system hosted by Sengent to perform trading
strategy optimization, so your computer will not have extra work to do. In
the future we intend to extend the capabilities of the project so that
volunteer machines will be able to spider and collect news commentary and
other market data to be used in opportunity identification.

We invite you to take a look at www.intelligentbroker.com to find
out more about this project and check out the downloadable GUI. Its free,
small, and completely compatible with Sengent's other projects. We would
love to hear your feedback and field questions and have established support
forums at:

http://www.intelligentbroker.com/cgi-broker/ultimatebb.cgi

Thanks for contributing!

Team Sengent

Greets.

Was wondering what D2OL was like to run and operate - is it high/med/low maintenance?

Can you set the client to work on what you want only?

How big is the "sleaze" factor to this project? ie. - do all results belong to some corp/pharmaceutical house?

Clients should be pretty low maintenance by now. When you turn anims off it's +-10% faster (mine is).

Autoupdates are working all right 99% time.

You cannot choose what you want to run - it crunches molecules against all (3) targets.

D2OL results are *probably* going to be sold to some company, but results from TSC should be free [I can be wrong, you'd better check it]
