I'm upgrading one of my boxes, so I'm selling the motherboard, cpu, and RAM. They're all going to together, and whoever bids the highest price gets it. Shipping and Handling is included. Please only bid if you are on the same continent as the United States.

If the bids aren't high enough to cover Shipping and Handling, I'd appreciate advice on responsible recycling.

Here's some basic info:

IIRC the Bartons never came at that clock speed, lowest was probably 1.7Ghz.. you've been running it on the wrong multiplier..

Try saying at least which rating it is! i.e XP2800+ And it might help to identify which motherboard it is too..

I suspect it's the whole combo which i GAVE to you which you are trying to sell though.. which was an ABIT NF-7 plus an XP2800+

Yeah, it's 2800+, though I'm not sure how I managed to run it at the wrong clock speed. I was wondering why the sieving speed was so low compared to the other one, now I know.

I don't have any tech-savvy friends, other than you guys, so I don't feel that stupid. :)

It's in the BIOS, thinking about it, you most likely have the FSB at half of what it should be.. set it to 166, multiplier should be 12.5

Often on reset of CMOS, they would revert, especially when overclocked.

My NF7 does the same thing.
If it thinks there is a problem it sets the FSB to 100.
Still use it as my Win98 box.
I like to play old games :)

A 2800 Barton should be 12.5 x 166 2083mhz
You'll sieve quite a bit faster if you run it at the right speed

I went in the BIOS and changed some settings(thanks :) ).

It's set to be the same as a 3100+, we'll see how that goes.

So now the other AMD is slower. should this still be a sale thread?
