Power issues

How many systems do you think I could run from a 500va UPS?? I lost 8 hours crunching today after a momentary power outage shut down most of my systems, and had to go through the whole Compaq keyboard plugging routine (darn things won't boot without a keyboard) to get the systems running. :( I was looking to get some barebones systems based around Duron 1GHz/Shuttle MK20N combos using a LRP based OS and a 250 watt power supply (or perhaps one 300 watt between two boards?), and would like to get some protection from short blackouts and brownouts.

You might use two 1 GHz computers per 500va UPS, no monitor.
For a 1.4 GHz computer or faster, with monitor, I would only put one on it.
I have a 1500va UPS, with two computers, no monitor, 3 small hubs, Firewall, DSL modem, 8 port KVM and phone.
