Threads not showing to unlogged-in users?

I was trying to link a friend to the educational thread on the DF forum and he was showing no threads there. no matter how he tried to get there, he coudlnt see any threads until he logged in on my username. Is this kind of thing a feature or a bug?

Did the user try to start on the main forum at www.free-dc.org/forum and work their way in that way?

I can confirm this. I just tried it with my new server box that doesn't have any cookies yet.

You go to the Educational thread and all it shows is Dyy's sticky intro.

I think the "default thread view" is set very low and those threads are all more than n days old, where n is the default threshold.

You are probably right Paratima! Didn't think about that...
Can someone give that a shot?
Go into User control panel, and change the default to display all messages ...
That's how I have mine setup. ;)
