The Lattice Project (http://boinc.umiacs.umd.edu/), based at the University of Maryland Center for Bioinformatics and Computational Biology, is now open to volunteers. Current areas of study include evolutionary relationships based on DNA sequence data; bacterial, plasmid, and virus protein sequences; and biological diversity in nature reserves.
