I've been on it for a while, I had them create a team for us back when I joined.

just got the following email
sounds like this guy has some ambition

Last week we submitted an application to the Guinness Book of World Records.
http://www.guinnessworldrecords.com/

In the application we announced our intention to secure the first distributed
computing world record in the area of Chess.

On the morning of September 4th I received a phone call from the science and
technology editor in the London office. He expressed his interest in our project
and stated that he was unaware of a record in this category. After asking a
number of questions, he concluded the conversation by requesting that he be kept
up to date on our progress. An hour later I received his complete contact information.

During the past eight months the ChessBrain website has contained messaging expressing
a potentially historic opportunity. Today I'm pleased to announce that we do
in fact have an extraordinary opportunity, and so that point is no longer speculation.
Many of you have been strong supporters during the past months. I thank you
for your faith and commitment to the project.

We're creating new stats pages that will display all of the people who contribute
to stage two so that there will be a site listing the individuals who participated
in creating this new world record! In addition, after achieving the goal, we'll
send out a certificate suitable for framing thanking you personally for your
contribution and acknowledging you as a co-record holder!

I want to state clearly that a world record is not the goal of the ChessBrain
project. World records are created and routinely topped. Each year we'll have
a new opportunity to beat our last record, and to potentially create new world
records. The ultimate goal of the project is to begin the long process of creating
new approaches to computer chess using AI. It's a long journey so I'd like to
see us have some fun along the way.

The target date for achieving this goal is sometime this year. I admit that
there have been numerous delays. The delays are necessary, as haste will potentially
compromise the efforts of hundreds of individuals. We owe it to you to ensure
that we remove any chance of potentially wasting your valuable time.

These are exciting times. I hope that you'll consider joining us in our stage
two efforts.
BTW, take a look at the friends page at: http://www.chessbrain.net/friends.html
There is still room for you to make your mark by becoming a contributor in ways
other than running a PeerNode server.

A special note to DC teams:
This is a chance for your team to compete for a world record! I expect fair
play. You and your team can be disqualified from the competition and fail to
be listed on the world record "DCTeam" page on the ChessBrain site. Don't risk
it! Most of you guys have formidable resources and can easily rise to the top
ranks based on raw processing power. "Use the force". We'll post a list of
official rules on the site before stage two begins. Don't worry overclocking
isn't considered cheating. :-)

The ChessBrain web site has been updated - pay us a visit! Also, don't forget
to sign-up at the join page!

Thank you for your continued support and consideration.
Best regards,

Carlos Justiniano
