I was always reluctant to use a wrapper for the best DC client that was ever developed. I wish there were more native clients, especially built like dnet is :)

From TheJet over on Ars Forum

The end result is that we are interested in working with you, but we do desire that people's work actually get credited to their appropriate d.net account [with the exception of those who do not wish to create a d.net account]. We've started the investigation process already, and at some point we will have an 'official' distributed.net client that integrates with BOINC. Any help you can be to furthering/speeding up that effort would certainly be appreciated. What we cannot allow is continued violation of our distribution terms. It explicitly states that you are _not_ to redistribute the d.net client as you are currently doing, so we need to do something about that. If you could please visit us on the d.net IRC and attempt to talk to Bovine or myself (TheJet).

We're not always on, but if you are interested in working collectively towards better support for d.net within the BOINC framework we would welcome your help. I'm not going to try to make excuses for previous behaviors, nor do I have any evidence that supports your claims, but what's in the past is past and can't be changed.

If you have further questions (and to not derail this thread any further), please visit us on IRC or contact me at the email address in my profile.
