That's great news! I have an 640Mb Geforce 8800GTS that's just dying to join in the crunching :rotfl:

The 8-Series (G8X) GeForce-based GPU from Nvidia is the first series of GPU to support the CUDA SDK.

So only 8-series cards onwards at best. I haven't got any hardware like that, I do my gaming on consoles. Oh well, hopefully it will bring another big boost to the project.

The 640 8800GTS is an extremely nice card. Mine runs smoothly, quietly, delivers phenomenal performance. And it's still sitting in the sweet spot for the price/performance ratio. :clap:

well if i read this right then the cuda software will decide whether to run apps on CPU or GPU. So massive performance increase, and points too!!

This is not the case with folding@home at the moment, but hopefully this will be invisable to BOINC
