I should of mentioned that an 8xxx card is required.
PCZ could run two of them I think, or twice as fast, or something... :D

Brian, when the client is running I can hear a small high pitch noise coming from someplace.
I was thinking the video card itself but I read on the beta forum folks say it's coming from their speakers.

leexgx says "the noise comeing from speakers norm means poor/problem sound card or motherboard"
if he only knew :)

Been folding on the 8800's since the client release.
There is no SLI support yet so i split up the cards and used a second PC to host one of them.

Anyways i get around 5k PPD from each 8800GTX.
Not bad.

Sorry points aren't going to FDC i'm playing away at the moment over at EVGA.
IB
Noises when under load are normal, annoying but normal
I don't get the problem BTW but plenty of others have reported it.

PS:
The viewer is very broken don't use it.

Spot the 8800's :)

I wonder how the new ATI 4850 and 4870 compare in there.

Well, don't know about ATI, but the nVidia GeForce 280 GTX gets ~7,000 :D

Dont buy an ATI card for folding.
The ATI client is much slower.
I don't believe it is the fault of the hardware but rather that the NV client is much better optimised.

The 48x cards are dam fine for gaming though, much improved over the 38x
series.

A cheap way to get lots of points is to buy 8800GT cards.
They fold really well.
You can overclock the shaders a lot and get over 5k PPD easy.
There getting cheaper too so a bit of a bargain if your into F@H.

Try the 177.40 driver
It will increase your PPD and it's got PhyX running on the GPU.
