<1>
I have a multiboot system (Debian 3.0, Lycoris b. 46, WinME, DOS 7.10a, GCL 3.0 on UMSDOS).

In my experience, SETI@home runs much faster on Win9x than on a Linux running X and a DT environment with untweaked process priorities, but I never tried numbercrunching off the bare shell.

All else equal, is any one system faster? Is much to be gained running barefoot? (On Win9x, it don't seem so).

<2>
What is the required total memory space?

I have 384MB RAM and I have swap throttled to 1/2 GB on both Win & Linuces. Enuf, or should I give it more swap space?

TIA
