View Full Version : How to make Climate Prediction higher priority in BOINC?

I added Climate Prediction to my BOINC setup, but I can only get 2 cores worth out of 8.
So, I added a GPU client with Seti, and vtu@home to pick up the slack on the other cores.

I changed Climate Prediction to 1000, and 0 minutes in place of 60 minutes on their website so that I can get CP to crunch 24/7 without swapping.

What am I doing wrong?
I want CP to run 24/7 on all 8 cores, but I can't get the work, and other projects (at 100, swap every 60 minutes) seems to take time away from it.

I think with the huge deadlines it has trouble deciding that it wants more work. Which boinc version are you using ?

There is some work at SuperLink@Technion right now as well if you'd like to try that too :) I have a few different projects all going as I go for 100K on them.... Almost done the Distrtgen.. I'd told myself I wasn't going to but I'm too much of a credit hog and it was easy pickings :) No more than 10oK though..

I think you have to log into the Climate Prediction web site under accounts and the the priority there
MAYBE I don't know, You know me I just :brainfart: at times

It worked I set the CPU usage in Magnetism@Home to 25 %
and now it starts only 1 client on a quad and 3 VTU@Home clients
Before VTU@Home use to overwhelm BOINC and use all clients

cool. Magnetism does use a lot of memory. That's a good solution you found!

I set Climate Prediction to 1000 and it seems to keep one cpu busy all the time :)
Good solution LaurenU2! :D
