Fresh from the NEO Project website

We have removed the math library NTL (www.shoup.net) from Neo as it is very unstable in the Windows environment. We tested the library with a simple program that just counted, this program caused a fatal operation. Another bad thing about the library is that it is not thread safe and also retains memory and never returns it to the OS for performance reasons. So, we have went back to using our own math library. We also have increased the work in packets as it is very inefficient sending a packet every 2 minutes or less. Its better for the project this way and much more efficient. With all of these changes we are requiring that in order to continue with the project YOU MUST UPGRADE TO 1.0.515. Starting December 1st, we will no longer accept any packets that were generated with any version less than 1.0.515. You can download it here. It Contains many fixes and enhancements. This version contains an option to use Neo in English, Dutch, German, French and Portuguese Translations.

Go ahead and get it here (http://www.theneoproject.com/dloads.html).

I get outstanding output with my Duron box, and not so great performance on my P4 1.6ghz comp.

Duron 950mhz : 3.9 mops/sec
P4 1.6ghz : 2.9 mops/sec

Yeah... I am also getting around 5.5 million mathematical operations per second on my MP1900+. And it solved the unstable client that was .513.

Now to test whether it will flush the workunits properly....

Flushed 2,000 units last night and only lost 12 WU's

LOL I can't! I'm trying to grab 5th back from Techimo. Only 2000 WU's to go and 5th is ours again! My borgs won't be in action again until Monday, so you might catch up some by then. Just my Duron 950 and my P4 1.6 crunching atm.

I can't give you anymore Sire. Its going at all she's got.

I've flushed everything after changing from .513 to .515 and losing almost half of all my workunits along the way :swear:

But with .515, I am able to produce more, flush better and it did not even crash on me once. I say its as good as it gets

I'm sure I read something about the packet size being bigger in .515, but they seem to complete just as quickly :)

Also the overnight crashes seemed to have stopped :|party|:

You are correct rus6. Each packet does more calculation but because of the optimization that Mike got, the entire client is running much faster now.

Great work Neo Dev. Team

Fine. Great.

They come out with a non-crashing client on Firday afternoon, and I can't update any work boxes until Wednesday!!
