is there anyway to setup a script that detemines if a program closes (or seg faults) and restart the program in red hat 8

Yes.

Write a shell script to run 'ps' and see if the sb program is running. I haven't yet written such a thing myself, but i'm pondering doing so. Anyway, i think the command needed to parse the output from ps is awk. Once you've written the script, add it as a cron job.

Though personally, i'd rather just see the bug fixed. Looks like it's still seg faulting on upload.
