Howard,

Any chance that the BeOS client could get a 2nd look?

Problem is...the DF client is NOT optimized for BeOS. Using BeOS I rob myself of 30-50K structures per day on the slowest proteins...not fun :( Right now with the old protein/new core it looks like it's about 70-90K structures per day short vs running under Linux. Using the -rt switch, silent, etc.

BeOS has a great client with Seventeen or Bust so I know BeOS doesn't have to lag behind the rest of the pack. I can't program so yes...I'm begging :)

TIA for any help :)

The client is optimized for BeOS as much as for any other OS. Maybe the OS is just slower or maybe your computer is slower.

Howard,

Nah...it's a dual XP1800 which when running Linux will do 70K+ more strucs per day per processor than when running BeOS using the newly released core.

And BeOS on Seventeen or Bust or Dnet computes equally with other Operating systems.

I know BeOS isn't a specialty of yours, or anyone who is helping, so I know there isn't much hope of tracking down why it's slower than other clients.

Thanks for the reply though and good luck.
