View Full Version : How to control the client

I see the default behaviour is to download 20 packets, process the 20 packets, then upload/download.

I would like this to be 10 packets, as 20 takes over 4 hours and I'd like the stats to be updated more than that, plus, I have a direct connect, so I should be able to make that 1 packet ;)

We need a good client operation/configuration FAQ ... any takers?

To get it to upload after every packet IB, go to Buffer and buffer update options -> Keyserver<->client connectivity options -> Dial up link detection Now select "dial up detection only mode" (yes, I know you have a permanent connection).

You will now have an extra option in the Keyserver<->client connectivity options called Interfaces to watch change this to a "*" to watch all interfaces. Now the buffers will be updated after every completed packet.

I have my client set to download 2 hours worth of wu's (23 packets). I then set the client buffer level check to 30 mins. So although I have 2 hours worth of packets, the buffer gets flushed every 30 mins :).

Hope this helps,
Phil.
