How about an option of supplying an addy where the clients can find updates? Would be great if you could have a server at your own network so that the nodes/clients won't all have to hog the official one.

Umm... correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't this what the "update proxy" does?

I've never seen that option, just normal proxy.
Nothing about it in the readme.

Mind giving a few pointers if that is the case?

download the appropriate OS daemon from the distributedfolding download site.

The daemon link is the update proxy.

On the download page, look for the last column called
Auto-update Daemon
(for users with lots of machines, docs enclosed) :D

I tried using the proxy server setup, but the machines could never see the updates that it downloaded into a Win98 web server. (Wished I'd seen that I needed an extra backslash in the url to get it to work.)
So I replaced all the 8 hunks of junk with 2 modern machines, and things are better than that option.. *grin*
