Thats the spirit! I think you guys should race to 100,000 or 125,000 Gnodes, what do you say? :D

While on the topic, Fang, Halon50 and TheOtherPhil should watch their backs. ;)

I'll do some OGR-crunching until there is a better/faster RC5-72-Client

Have a nice day!

Oh its like that huh :)

There hasn't really been much competition in this project since I joined Free-DC, hence my last post regarding a race (but clearly that doesn't seem a popular idea :p). It's good to see a new face on the project, even if you are about to pass me on DP's proxy stats :) I'll have to crank it up a little, but theres no way I can match your output.

Crunch on

it will be a long way to go to catch Nitrousine and the other guys... but it is only a question of time :jester:

@rus6: are you still on ECC2? how many computers are crunching ogr for you (ogr and in general)?

have a nice day and crunch on!

Yep still focusing on ECC2,

ECC2
1 * P4 (not sure)
3 * PII (350's)
3 * PIII (1G)

OGR
2 * P4 (not sure)
4 * PIII (400/450's)
K6-2 350!

One day I'll get some AMD kit...

:( you have more boxen than I have...

My boxen for OGR:
1*TBird 1200 on Linux 24/7
1*XP 2000+ on W2k 24/7
1*Duron 750 on W2k sometimes (avg 5 hours/day)
1*P3 1 GHz on W2k but only sometimes

so I think that I won't be able to catch you in the stats...

Wow! Ironbits takes that OGR-25-Project seriosly! At 18:00 UTC he contributed about 1.98 T-Nodes (seen at dp's proxystats (http://stats.dp.cx/ogr/byemail.html))! Do you really want to push our team into the top 100?

I think I'll get a new potential threat in my stats :D

Great work IB!

alpha
03-18-2003, 03:18 AM
Uh oh. Look at DP's proxy stats. Either guru was crunching RC5-72 and his buffers emptied and therefore he 'fell' into OGR, or someone has woken the beast. Lets keep our eyes open :scared:

Actually - its someone like guru that would help us reach that top 100 spot an aweful lot sooner :D

 oh - oh!

:scared: Guru will be another potential threat in my stats :D

But with his great firepower we'll be in the top 100 as soon as possible

When will there be a large enough dump to overtake that one db7654321@aol.com-account at DP's stats to be the leader in at least one OGR-stats-system? :D :D :D

guru
03-18-2003, 06:35 PM
Yes, I'm back for a little while. I only have a few systems up. I do have two Mac's I can add but they are running OS9.1 and the new mac clients are only for OSX. Can someone kick DN in the ass for me so they update their clients! I have idle systems!

guru

Beyond
03-18-2003, 06:42 PM
The older clients "should" still be able to grab and process OGR stubs, but not RC5-72. I'm still running the 8010 client on BeOS for OGR with no problems. :)

alpha
03-19-2003, 03:24 AM
guru: the versions that run only on OSX are the latest ones which support RC5-72. If you only want to crunch OGR, can't you use one of the older versions which will work on OS9.1? Snippet from a post on the RC5 mailing list:

So far, there is only a client for Mac OS X and it hasn't been
optimized for AltiVec/Velocity Engine yet, so it is actually quite slow
right now. I have a dual 1GHz G4 just waiting to sink it's teeth into
RC5-72, so I am looking forward to an optimized version of the Mac OS X
client.
I haven't heard anything about the possibility of a Mac OS 9 client so
your lab access will do no good for now - unless you set them to work
on OGR which is optimized for AltiVec/Velocity Engine.

guru
03-20-2003, 06:18 PM
I've tried the latest Mac OS 9.x client but it dies 1 second after it's started and I don't get a chance to read the error before the window goes away.

Wow! We really did a large dump!

At the beginning of March we were about 1000th and three weeks later we are on 635! That's about 400 places we climbed up!

[:notworthy]
We are doing about 30,000 GNodes per day and about 200,000 GNodes per week. Our best cruncher at the moment is Beyond with about 90,000 GNodes per week, followed by IronBits, guru, Condor_FreeDC, Robert Shepard, rus6 and our other great crunchers!

I'm afraid I am not at x4 anymore, high electric bills have forced me to shutdown 40% of the machines several weeks ago. Maybe after April 15th I can crank them all back-up and/or add to the total. ;)
