I am in the process of building several inexpensive systems in an attempt to make a floppy to network booting cluster. Here is my problem, my server box, currently running Slackware 7.1 and using the 2.2.16 kernel will run fine for a little while and then kick out the following error:

Unable to handle kernel NULL pointer dereference at virtual address 00000008
current->tss.cr3 = 00101000, %cr3 = 00101000

and after that the system is hardlocked and I can't do anything with it. Reinstalls don't work. Occaisionally I will get it during the install. I have tried both Slackware 7.1 and 8.0. I have done installations on other computers with these disks so I know the OS disks aren't borked. Also ran WD's diagnostic program on the HDD and it showed as clear. System is as follows

Motherboard: Azza 361BS
onboard video, audio, (it is advertised as onboard LAN, but all they do is toss a pci ethernet card in the box)
Proc: 1Ghz Duron
HDD: 20GB Western Digital
3.5" FDD
56x CDROM
256MB RAM

Any help would be appreciated, I have been pulling my hair out for well over a week with this thing. Anyone have any ideas?:confused:

It's a long one, so get it all on one line... seems like a real bad bug :(

Try using Caldera eDesktop 2.4. It runs a similar kernel and I've been running it on my web server for 2 years without a problem.
