I wasn't going to bother with posting anything in the forums, as so few of the forum users take advantage of IRC, but it seems our "secretive" actions regarding IRC have raised the red flag for some(one).

So, let it hereby be known, that the IRC network formally known as the Free-DC IRC Network has had a name change, and is now the Aknarra IRC Network. More info can be found here (http://aknarra.net/new.html)

Any other question of complaints may be directed to me at marc@aknarra.net

It appears that Marc has kidnapped the Free-DC IRC Network for his own purposes.

I fail to see the problem here?

You can still logon using irc.free-dc.org so the only think that changed is the name. What exactly is the problem with that?

If it bothers you that much, then I suggest you stop using it. It's a free service that Marc_1 is providing - complaining about something that's free is pretty stupid IMHO. Flames don't solve anything.

I think this is comparable to how the open source community works. If there's something you think could be made better, then go ahead and make something better.

I don't use the irc much. (I did like the addition of the java version)
But' I do appreciate you efforts Marc_1 in providing the form for us.
