Congrats man for reaching 15th.

Wish I could join you all in this Project but as you all might have known, I am a little tied down to OGR right now.

But once our goal is achieved, I think this Project will get a little of my attention.

U won't want to leave it too long, any day now we should go through the 33% barrier...

:D

So this project can be completed within a year? Is that what you are saying?

Ir's certainly looking that way, one of the reasons I like it...

They need at most 20,500,000 dp's before a collison will occur. They have just over 6,000,000 already.

That isn't entirely correct. 20.5M DP is the estimated number of DP required before a collision. AFAIK there isn't a 'keyspace' with this project, because the DPs are found randomly. I thought of this when I first read your post, but I just saw a post on the ECC2 forums that confirmed my suspicions.

If you remember, with ECCp-109 we had to go way over the estimated number of DP before a collision was found.

True. I must admit I nearly posted something slightly different:

Like they need around 20,500,000 dp's. I guess I got more optimistic as I posted. :jester: And I'd hate it, if people missed out on the project.

However I'm sure one of the ECC projects only needed around 33% to complete; so you never know the collision may happen any day now....

Here's hoping ;)

Because of the random algorithm it's hard to know exactly how long it will take, but at the current rate the longest estimates reckon it will be finished around a year from now..

So Alpha are we going to see you crunching ECC2 again?

Well, even the first two DP that are found could be the winners - because it is random. You don't need to reach any particular percentage for success to be possible, its just the more DP that are found, the higher probability of two colliding.

No, I don't think so. I've developed a rather strong dislike for Jay Berg and the way he (and the others) [try to] manage the project. If Chris Monico were running ECC2 it would be a different story. Doesn't look like you guys need much help anyway, look at the numbers just a couple of you are churning out ;)

:rotfl:

Some of them do seem rather abrasive..

Still it'll make me even happier, when I find the magic dp or even dp's
