From our friends over on [H] with a [s]low forum
copy pasted from several posts in this thread if you want to try to go there

This new gromacs core allows the use of 3dnow instead of SSE for all those with XP's that seems to run unstable with -advmethods .
Problem is that frame times went from ~7 minutes to 9.30.
without 3dnow!
25 steps = 03:14:19
with 3dnow!
25 steps = 03:44:26
Running 3DNow is still much faster than standard loops.
In the Beta forum Vijay said he will give us a flag to do that in a few days after they see if this fixes the crashing and lockup problems with Gromacs wu's on AMD cpu's.

30 minutes longer on XP procs :swear:

What's up? I can't get any GROMACs core WUs. :swear:

I either get Tinkers or G@H WUs, even though I'm config'd to only get f@h and -advmethods. This sux in the middle of a gauntlet.:bang:

We're all suffering from this.

Beware the bad G@H units. You don't want the "unrecognized atom" message.
My short term workaround was to reinvoke F@H without -advmethods, get a Tinker, and then reinvoke with -advmethods on. This way, if it clears up by the time the Tinker finishes, and I happen to be on-line, I should be back to all GROMACS again.

to get rid of the G@H units :
1) stop the client,
2) FAH3Console -queueinfo
3) FAH3Console -delete #of_WU
Cheers,
Marc
