http://www.distributed.net//docs/tutor_clients.php.en

+ flush some crunched workunits
+ wait at least 24 hours (because of the stats-run)
+ search your account by your e-mail-address on http://stats.distributed.net/projects.php?project_id=25
+ get your own password for your d.net-account ("Please email me my password"-button)
+ join our team (http://stats.distributed.net/participant/pjointeam.php?team=910183941) with the password you got mailed

I hope that helped :)

Where do you sign up for an account?

It automaticaly enters you as a user of the project when you submit completed WU's to distributed.net. Just remember you won't show up until they refresh their stats (once a day).

Upload at least one work unit. Wait! for the stats to run/complete at 23:59 UTC (5pm PST).
Search for your name, IF it pops up, click on send me my password.
If it doesn't show up, try again the following day...
Once you get your password, when you search for your name, you will be able to login and change 'stuff', and join the Free-DC team! w00t! :D

So I probably should have started on this yesterday uh?:bang:

Oh well I'm flushing Wus now.. Is it going to do any good to fire more than one boxen now?

sure- if you're piping them through the proxy, they should start showing up there- and your work will show up tonight under your name-- you just can't move it over to the team until your acct goes active

( at least I think it will work that way )
:D

So on amd xp machines use "core=1" and on not amd machines use "core=-1"?

Do I want the Referance to rc5-72 at all?

I don't want it to autofind keyserver?

Thanks for :help:

Right- the -1 lets the client auto-select the core.

Keep the RC5 reference, just make sure it is set =0 (unless you want to work on the RC5 project as well)

Autofind keyserver is off to force it to the proxy server instead of back to dnet's servers

The clients will recognize the second processor and handle the threading- Don't start a second instance.;)

How can you tell this is happening?

open the client in console mode- if you watch, the node count will "flip" between two different values as it swaps display of the two stubs it's working on.....

or you could just take my word for it :rotfl: :rotfl: :jester: :jester:

I dunno-- I started to turn off all my instances of CB for the duration, but didn't have the heart to leave 'em off-- besides, you'd of run me down over there if I did :D

 It says in the logfile, or on the screen when it starts up,
2 processors found starting A and B (or something like that)
You can also bring up taskmanager and see in the Performance TAB, that both procs are Max'd out
