New Stats Issues Thread - Post all your issues here - Before posting please read the old thread as we be working on it..
When posting about a bug can you include as much information as possible especially if it is a layout issue as these maybe very specific to the browser being used and if possible a screenshot :)

Current Issues being worked on:
Layout Issue - Being Resolved, need more info, working fine in Firefox v3.6.28, v9.0, Chrome 18.x , Safari (latest), IE 8 in Compatibility mode.
Font size - Resolved, it should be back to 11pt.

The charts no longer have that 3d look as we have switched to a different plot engine which is using the Canvas ability of HTML 5 to render the charts, I know there are few minor issues and 2 pages have yet to be switched over but I am working on that too.

The team line shows about 366 million credits (far right).
Adding the top two members together equals about 470 million credits.

Is this not a discrepancy?

In the BOINC world, the team only gets your points whilst you are a member of that team and BOINC exports the points for teams and users separately.

Quake Catcher Network doesn't seem to be updating at Free-DC stats. It only updates every 5 days or so, anyway, but at least three of those updates haven't made it to Free-DC stats. Haven't seen any complaints on QCN's message boards, so the problem might not be at their end (?)

I'm also noticing differences between what any users QCN stats page says at the top as "total credit" and the score below it:

And yes the stats folder seems to be MIA last update seems to be just before an outage that happened around Christmas...

I know about the monthly scores, but that's a much bigger data related problem, the project opportunities I'll fix now, though I'm not really sure what the code that broke it is in there for.

Oh and this is fine to report in here.

It's a Off the back-burner and off the stove kinda repair - the crash took a lot of it with it.... In order to get that back would mean a lot of work trying to figure out historical data or we just leave it empty from May to now...

That would be most excellent, turning it back on for going forward, even with the gap. If it's not worth starting it back up, I'd offer the opinion that the graph might as well be removed from the pages. :)

Do you mean http://stats.free-dc.org/stats.php?page=usermain&name=lashrasch if so then that page, you'd need to find out your user ID's for each project you have and enter them in for each project..

if you just want your signature then look at this page:

this shows you all your user ID's for each project as well, just click on your score for each project to get your ID's..
the page does show 1M credits in Combined, and you get a random theme tag as well like this one

Hello, I am fairly new here and have a few questions.

How often does the stats page update with fresh info from the various project servers?
I just started to run tasks from MindModeling@Home yesterday and its not showing up on my stats page yet. How long should this take? I set up my CPID just like my other projects.

I also have a suggestion. Reading the FAQ on how to set up my stats page it refers to the CPID. I found using the CPID number gets you no where fast. You should mention you need the Soft CPID to get things to work.

Thank you for doing all the work involved in producing a website that I find real useful and makes crunching DC projects all that more fun.

They update as often as the project exports new data. Some projects do this 4 or 6 times per day. MindModelling@Home unfortunately is only once per day at around 21.00pm EST.

Not sure what you mean by the soft CPID? In the BOINC world there is only the CPID, unless you mean the other one as the weak authenticator? (which is not in the stats at all)

Yes I meant the weak CPID. I had to use the weak CPID for each project to get the stats to work. I will wait and see if Mind Modeling updates at 21:00.

The Einstein host stats have gone crazy, the uncompressed file is 3.6Gb and parsing them all has caused one of the database drives to fill completely. I'm cleaning it up now.

*EDIT* I misquoted here. It's not the Einstein hosts causing the issue. Some of average tables went crazy (not sure why yet) in one of the databases and got to 40Gb each, this is what filled the filesystems. I've switched off that part of the stats whilst I investigate - normally the filesystems are about 50% full, though they fluctuate upwards by about 10% as temp tables are created and deleted. Averages are just used to show the average countryrank and average teamrank. Been running fine for over a year so don;t know what caused them to go wrong yesterday. The daily rollover might be wrong occasionally today as the system flip flops between the two databases, but it will correct itself tonight.

Hi, guys. I'm not sure if this is a Free-DC problem or an E0N problem. I've thought for some time that my total was building awfully slowly, but yesterday was the first time I actually took note of it. Yesterday, my total was 993,xxx. My points for the day were 3,xxx. Today my total is 994,xxx. Now I know that E0N is a slow points project, but this is ridiculous!

Any help/insights appreciated. Thanks for the great job y'all do!

Hello Bok,

NFS has up to 5 badges - one Overall by credit, 3 subprojects by credit and a temproraily badge based on RAC. It's fine for me to leave out the RAC badge.
In the banner on user combined all four other badges are shown, but on users project pages NFS@home only the sub-project badges are shown - the overall badge is missing.
(At least for me, but I had the credits for silver overall badge already when they introduced their badges.)

On my Collatz User Stats page I have now twice the golden badge. Something seems to go wrong, didn't it? Maybe the second one should be the bronze RAC badge.

I think that's a throwback to when I originally implemented them and they were doing sequential badges (more than one).

I've deleted out the rogue rows now. I didn't even know that collatz was doing the RAC badges too. This is good as I can get Slicker to help me make sure my algorithm is correct.

my boxes has been doing some Ralph work lately. I've noticed that Ralph doesn't seem to be updating at Free-DC stats.
On Ralphs stats my credits has updated. I'm not sure where the problem is, as thats above my knowledge at the moment. But maybe you could check if something isn't working on your side?

Its looking like the Free DC site is, well, stuck. I just installed a GTX 780 Ti to run along side of my older GTX 680 and I was curious how much my point production would jump up on GPU Grid. Needless to say I been checking Free DC off and on all day. Currently Free DC is saying I only had 448,350 points today and it says the same thing for Last Update and Yesterday. Been like that for several hours. So I went over to my GPU Grid account page and did the math and came up with 896,700 points for me today. Which makes me a happy camper over the boost I got from adding the 780 Ti to my system. Just thought I would pop over here and let you know there is some kind of issue with the Free DC site. Oh, before any one asks, I did indeed clear my cache and cookies and nothing changed.

I've recently added several new hosts working on SIMAP, as that project is ending soon and I want to get to 500,000 points. In my stats (http://stats.free-dc.org/stats.php?page=user&proj=sim&name=68244), those new hosts are only showing stats for Today (and last update) even though they've been working longer than that. And they show an absurdly large amount for Today. Only my old host is listed correctly. You can see from my TeAm's stats (http://stats.free-dc.org/stats.php?page=team&proj=sim&team=92) that there's a difference for yesterday's total.

Edit: Looking at a single host (http://stats.free-dc.org/stats.php?page=host&proj=sim&hostid=1317439) is also correct. It's only wrong on my user stats.

Edit2: I just refreshed my user stats and they're fine now. :confused:

My stats seem to be a bit confused on the team page from titm to time, this started a few days ago http://stats.free-dc.org/stats.php?page=userteamcomb&team=[H]ard|OCP some times I check it and it will have 0 points for today and 0 points for yesterday on the combined page but the next time it will be correct then if I check it in a few minutes latter it will be all 0's again. It looks like the mirb and teramirb tables are out of whack. Lots of blank rows, no name/team, listed. The gaps start at around rank 329 / count 18 for mirb, and around 39/16 for teramirb.

Also for the teremirb the >9 for inclusion should likely be >1.

In the BU status, some of us are ranked 0 in project, team, etc. the last update looks low compared to normal, but that could be from the project.

My team scores 25 today, me 400 of them and Trent 625...that's 1025 in total, not 25.
Yesterday we scored 0, me 2425 of them and Trent 750...that's 3175 in total, not 0.

Our individual totals do not add up to the team total, nor do our weekly or monthly scores.

If it is any consolation: BoincStats shows the same error, so the fault is not at FreeDC, but more likely at Climate@Home itself....

You likely have a split CPID.

And those projects you listed don't export stats at all. I wrote an experimental RPC scraper to get stats for some userids for projects that don't export stats which is why you see them for myself and a couple of others.

At the moment it's invitation only for those users who support Free-DC in some fashion.

The stats for wildlife@home have not updated in several weeks. The project has been combined/renamed Citizen Science Project. The credit total on my CSP page does not match Free-DC, and the project name has not been updated.

With the advent of Citizen Science grid we now have double counting credit. Citizen Science grid is the joint continuation -using also the old credit- of Wildlife@Home, DNA@Home and SubsetSum@Home.

I woke up to see the same combined score as the one I went to bed with. Gap with BOINCSTats -for me- is a little under 3 million now (482,931,543 vs 485,850,251).
Looks like there is maintenance on the FreeDC system while I did my nappy.

It's the switch between the 2 databases.
on the database "stats" the combined score is being updated along with the projects.
on the database "dcfree" the combined score is not being updated along with the projects.
The stats pages switch between the 2 databases on each update which is why the problem appears and dissappears.
This is a simple fix for Bok which he will rectify when he returns during the week.

It is getting harder and harder to plan what to crunch or research when non active projects are mixed in with active projects. Therefore, if they just disappear, stop issuing WU's for over a month, I consider that they are no longer interested in volunteer help and should be Retired accordingly. I'm not a huge proponent of separating them out at all to be honest, though not against 'marking' them as inactive in some other way.

Perhaps this will help you though. If you go to my rewrite version of the stats (in progress) to the main page - http://stats6.free-dc.org/projmain/ and just click the heading for last 28 days to sort it descending it will show all active projects in the last 28 days which gives a pretty good indication??

btw, I've crunched BigData wu's within the past year, but it does seem to be gone at the moment.

My Bitcoin Utopia efforts seem to go a bit unnoticed. In this view (http://stats.free-dc.org/stats.php?page=team&proj=bit&team=120) I think that I miss my reached 250 Million mega milestone (as well as on top of 'Recent Milestones across BOINC projects' this view here (http://stats.free-dc.org/stats.php?page=userbycpidmilestones&cpid=76d20230028d9ceee3a1aa52fcf14dd4)). It seems a bit strange that a Megamilestone is not considered being a 'normal' Milestone.

at certain times of day in the team data line it will show, I think, accurate total points, but in the individuals section it will only show a small fraction of the total. When it does this, only Northern European members are listed (two of them - petrusbroder and mk).
Also when it does this it shows Tony T. as only having 70,250,783 total points and he actually has over 80,000,000. (Tony T. recently changed his name to 10esseeTony, could that have caused problems?)

Later in the day the data seems correct.

The database server is really struggling right now, it needs some major maintenance. It's throttled back to 1.6Ghz for one and is showing errors on one drive. I'll see what I can do but will have to take it offline for a while later today.

Oh I see. I think I jumped to the conclusion that you meant there was a CPID page with all the user rankings without Bitcoin, but that would look pretty much the same apart from the combined totals and ranks.
I suppose the one number I would be interested in seeing easily on the CPID page would be my overall rank without Bitcoin. That seems quite hard to find without scrolling around in the "combined users without Bitcoin" table. And really, I am not sure why I care about it, as to me it is just an indicator of how many people have spent the money on Bitcoin specific kit. Fairly pointless information to me at least.

And I have some other servers recently donated, but they are true,older, server class machines and my initial tests on one of them as a DB server was about twice as slow as my current machine unfortunately. I've noticed something odd. I keep going up and down in the team stats and there is nobody near me overtaking me. The few people immediately above me are inactive (0 recent credit). I went from 102 yesterday to 104 today. It's been doing this at least the last week. According to BS, I'm at #99. I just hit 100 on Wednesday or Thursday. So whatever is affecting the positioning here seems to be independent of the actual stats... Could it be there are some people FDC isn't registering right so they are disappearing off the charts periodically??

P.S. I just refreshed the stats. I'm at 103 now yet it says I'm down >2<... Are you using the Enron calculation module? :crazy:

I'm not on multiple teams though. I'm long past the phase of any transition issues and I haven't modified anything since last week. (I know combining computers wreaks some havoc on stats.) It's not just me though because the people above and below me are moving up and down alongside me too like there are people moving in and out of the team in the upper ranks. I did a quick and dirty check against Top 100 on BS team list and there were a few names shifted downward on Free-DC stats.

Also if I went from 102 to 104 and back down to 103, how is that a net of -2? It should either be -1 from the main update or +1 since the incremental update.

Looks like you may have done some work. When I checked today, my rank matched the BS rank exactly. I only checked twice, so I can't be positive it's all good, but it's looking good.

Am I right in assuming that the NFS subprojects get their data for the FreeDC stats from another -later- source than the NFS project itself?
Yesterday I scored 13,414 credits for NFS, yet my subprojects remained the same -on FreeDC.

At the NFS site they did grow:

15e credit 70,752 total, 97.50 average (1608 tasks)

Not sure where this belongs . . . I've noticed that the badges are not quite right, for me anyway. When WCG Ebola turned to 5 years the badge disappeared. :( At some point Universe at Home Test showed the same hours as Universe at Home, so the appropriate badge showed up. When the credits got corrected, the badge stayed. :confused: Not biggies, but I'm probably not alone.

The NFS subproject data should be corrected soon. It was due to the changes made at the project which moved the subproject datafiles to the standard directory rather than the one they had been using for the last few years.

Those UPS vans can take a fair amount of abuse. I use to work at a shop that the delivery route was commercial/industrial customers. Actually what was scary that we use to get these hose fittings from a company in the midwest. They must have one of the worst UPS centers or something because they would brown-tape the boxes all around and then packing tape around that... and STILL we would get boxes that had holes and rips in them. They must have been loading using catapults...

Haven't had any issues. Steve, try clearing out your cache and reload the page. Failing that, if you have Firefox, goto your history, Right-Click on Free-DC, select 'Forget about this site.' This will clear all cookies and files for Free-DC. Do it for each Free-DC that remains. Probably two. I think Chrome has a similar feature. Don't know about Opera, but possibly.

A strangeness: Look at the DC-Free stats for Malaria Control Project (where I am currently the only worker-bee). It has my total from yesterday (Thursday, the 8th) at 29,848 (Way high) and the team's daily total at 10,384, which is much more realistic. Probably something dumb. Cheers!

I'm seeing strange behavior with the GIMPS stats. I've seen similar behavior elsewhere but don't remember which projects. Some of the updates seem to loose the data from the previous update. The last update showed ~2000 for my user and day. This update is now showing 4. Also the previous day stats fluctuate from update to update.

The results seem to be ping-ponging. My credit for yesterday and today keeps bouncing between yesterday and today. Could it be a time issue? I have notices something strange in the top right time stamps. Earlier this morning the last check was Dec 23 at ~ 10:00, now it shows Dec 22 20:00. Is it possible a new stats run started when the old one was still processing? Sorry I gimped the stats.

I know what it is, and I'm surprised it hasn't manifested earlier on any of the non boinc projects. Quick fix for Gimps put in, should be ok going forward, but the real fix is to move these nonBOINC stats to a different box.

Bok, Would it be possible for you to keep a sort of "cached" version of yesterday's stats available for us antipodean visitors?

At present the daily stats reset to zero at about 5:30 - 6pm Australian Eastern Standard Time. The next update doesn't occur until about midnight so there is a long dead zone during our peak crunching - stats observing - tinkering with BOINC projects time.

I realise this is due to international time zone differences and the annoyances of daylight saving kicking in and messing the expected stats updates refreshes.

When the daily stats reset to zero all the project rank movements vanish.

Yup I have signed in through Facebook on both the Desktop and the mobile phone. So I know the same situation or starting point exists. Now I have entered my forum sign in material but the Desktop is showing all data but the Mobile phone is still wallowing in zilch. When you can't see your stats life is harsh. :hair: Any clues would be helpful?

The only tip is that you have to ensure you check the 'Keep me logged in' box when logging into the forum otherwise no cookie from Free-DC is written and the stats site can't find it.

Suddenly I have no team and no sub-project stats anymore..
Edit: scores seem to have been corrected, MMs are still missing -both for projects and sub-projects. Only MiRBs and TeraMiRBs show.
Edit2: score is good on one stats server but not on the other, which still has me teamless for the combined score.
Edit3: Sophie Germain Prime Search is no longer recognised as sub-project.

Edit4: everything seems to be corrected, apart from the team part of the stats.
