Team Stir Fry has put out a distress call for more help on Ars Technica's front page! They've obviously seen that they can't beat us with a mere 5:1 advantage in active users, so they're looking to increase their numbers even more.

With this in mind, they've called on Ars Technica's single greatest asset: front page pimpage. It's been effective for them in the past, so we're gonna have to be on our toes. We'll probably see an almost immediate increase in their production, which will probably drop off again after a couple of weeks as some of their new users get bored and drift away. Unfortunately, they generally manage to keep at least *some* of those new users for the long haul, so it probably won't drop all the way back to pre-pimpage levels. They've got a great forum, and a great bunch of regulars who will do everything they can to make their newbies feel right at home. We'll have to expect that active user ratio to look a little more lopsided in the coming weeks, even after the initial swell resides.

Why are they worried? I'd say this has something to do with it:

We were supposed to step aside gracefully weeks ago, and it just hasn't worked out that way for them.

We've been tougher than they expected and we need to stay at it! We've proven we're willing to fight so far, and I for one don't have any intention of giving in anytime soon!

Man, HAVE they ramped up! :scared:
Currently they have almost 300 more active users and almost 1000 more Total users!

:Pokes: But they are just now starting to keep up with us. ;) :)
:moon:  Now that's what I call an 800lb gorrilla :D

Yeah, this is pretty ugly:

The ratio of them to us (active users) is now about 7:1 (up from 5:1 two days ago). I guess the real test will see how many of them they manage to keep over the next couple of weeks. With so many little users who aren't really focused on DC, the changeover may hurt them more than us as well...I guess we'll see...

I regret that I cannot bring power comparable to bguinto1, but I intend to incrementally supply at least another 15-20 Ghz to your cause.

afriend: That's certainly a nice amount

I think it's time for a new graph:

;)

The real reason for our ramp up is that otherwise we may never see Dyyrayth launch all those machines he promised to launch ;) :p

I can't offer too much in the way of CPU power but it seems you guys need a few new members. Seeing as my team seems to have just the 2 of us I'll persuade the other guy to come across too.
