Edited..turns out he had the 1:09 :( He thought he got the latest. Suffice to say one unhappy person who is thinking of defecting to folding@home . Now having to check who else at OCworkbench got the wrong "latest foldtrajlite"

Well, those in the know say 1:09 and 1:43 are the same, so here is the error.

So I got to check on my one folding PC and realize I accidentally clicked Disable net access rather then quiet mode. So realizing I have 65k in points waiting to be uploaded I stop and restart with the proper flags. It takes about 20k worth of the buffered generations and then stops and starts folding again. I think to my self hmm that’s strange so I stop and restart again this time it takes the rest of my generations and movies on. Now here it is over an hour latter and I still haven’t received the 65k in points. So I open up my error log and this is what I see.

Those 'error writing body' messages come from the 3rd party network library we are using and although Im not certain exactly what it means it clearly indicates something bad is happening while trying to upload your files.

What is your network setup like, any firewalls, and is it dialup, cable, etc?

I uploaded 57 Gens last night (I think somewhere around midnight EST)

The interface shows them going up ok. But now that I check my stats I see they DIDN'T actually get credited .... I can't post a copy of the log as I'm not at home right now, but I'm expecting to see the same thing in the log. Never had probs sending before.

This is the Windows client, behind a NAT Router using DSL.

I'm hoping this isn't gonna be a massive problem with others as most my other machines are sitting with disabled net access as I've got close to 800 Generations hiding away (Lets not hear about "You shouldn't use the disabled net access `with an "Always On" connection from anyone now ...

I will try to find out from NCBI what could cause that error but I can't guarantee theyll be helpful. Most likely it is something out of our control anyways, like at the ISPs end or something.

I believe it is a problem with the connection to our site but the client is clearly not working for him so all I can suggest is for him to wait for the next release and try then, any work he does now is just getting wasted since half or less seems to be getting through properly. If I find out what that message means I follow up here.

I think I know what happened... the error atualy acared when I was OFF LINE.... it tryed to upload and failed but it could have not conection detected properly, so thaught it was uploading and changed something like it would do during upload?

I duno... :P anyhow ive told it not to conect to the net and only upload when I tell it to... that should work untill the real problem is fixed ;)

For those receiving the Error writing body... messages:

The response I got from NCBI is to try the following. At a DOS (or UNIX) prompt type:

set CONN_DEBUG_PRINTOUT=ALL
set DEBUG_PRINTOUT=1

(Alternatively, add these two lines to your foldit.bat if you know what you're doing.)

Then run the program again and look closely at the output on the screen when the error occurs, there should be some extra information such as Timeout for example. If you get this to work, please post the additional information you glean and we'll go from there.

For those of you who have been getting this error:

It is not a problem with the software, one of our server machines was acting up a bit, but it was fixed yesyerday afternoon, so the error should not appear anymore and the upload should proceed smoothly.
