All we know is that the server is down.

We can't pulse, we don't have any up to date stats. I've looked into their forum, but they didn't say why keycount.piqsoftware.com is down.

Perhaps they couldn't pay their provider- or electricitybill :D

--> NEWS <--

Why the keycount.piqsoftware.com-server is down (message (http://www.piqsoftware.com/dev/forums/viewthread.asp?id=452&page=2) from Apoch, the admin):

Well, it finally happened.

Apparently sometime yesterday some joker unplugged the CPU fan on the TKC server. Seeing as the CPU has been essentially pegged 24/7 for a couple months, it didn't take very long for the whole thing to burn up.

So now we are in the market for a new server, and we have an empty budget.

Seems like there will be no server for some time now...

Some users asked (http://www.piqsoftware.com/dev/forums/viewthread.asp?id=469) for the backend-software, so their teams can run their own keyserver, but it seems like Apoch wont hand it over (reasons: privacy, security of personal data and so on).

So I don't know what to do...

Options:
- we could wait for a new server (and continue keytyping, clicking, scrolling), that probably will never come because of empty budget
- go back to the good old Project Orca client that doesn't track mouseclicks and scrolls
- or do we have any other suggestions?

And then Apoch said (http://www.piqsoftware.com/dev/forums/viewthread.asp?id=469)

Since so many people are waiting for the server to come back up, I will personally be purchasing the server parts today. With luck it will be operational by the end of the week, when I will be taking another business trip.

That means: the server could be back up by the end of the week :bouncy:
