I also put a machine on this project. Seems not to interfer with find-a-drug.

What do I have to know when I start? Download the (commandline, windows) client, edit the configfile and start? Seems to work for me ..

That's what I done did.
I run cbspn.exe (cmd client) with Find-a-Drug, working good :)

That will work fine:thumbs:
You can also use FireDaemon (http://www.firedaemon.com/) to run it as a service.

I've got my XP 2200+ on this but I only have a dialup connection available, which isn't active much. So I won't be producing much, but I like the idea that it doesn't munch all my CPU cycles.

Currently installing Linux emulation on my FreeBSD box so I can use the Linux binary on it. It isn't much but it all counts, etc. :)

I should be on the stats from a little work I did a couple of days ago.

Nother node added. Its an old junky Dell Opteron (200 Mhz, not much RAM).

How much computing power does CB really need? Will a 200Mhz get the same points as a 1.7Ghz? Or is it dependant on computing power? Thanks

rshepard
12-01-2003, 04:45 PM
No- the 1.7 will, over time, produce more points because the throughput is faster. The individual jobs are all worth more or less the same, but the 200 won't do as many over a fixed interval.

excaliber
12-01-2003, 05:01 PM
Ok. Thanks. I've got then:

1.7Ghz
400Mhz
200Mhz

Hope these help :)

US-D is back in the 70-80 day range. We need to boost our production a bit or we'll lose one of our few #1 spots.

I'll be kicking in another 4x XP3000s buy monday. US-D has all the big iron on this project thats for sure. Other than :Pokes: Condor I'm not sure who else to squeeze?

I will restart it on my home boxen, but it makes too much noise too run it on the office pharm. :( Ya know? Like grinding disk drives and moaning users?

I can (and will) fire up the whole pharm for the world-record attempt, however. ;)
