Has anyone got any info on whether on a Dual CPU setup it is better to have 2 seperate apps running or 1 app with Processor=2? Looking at the CB forums I kinda get a mixed message on which is 'best'...

just tested the processor=2 option - the standard benchmark took 2.33 seconds as opposed to ~5 seconds with the processor=1 option...

now is it better to have 1 fast node or 2 medium nodes...?

2 medium speed IMHO, because CB doesn't use cpu all time and when yoy have more nodes, you've got better chance of getting job.

just noticed a second benchmark run - though at the moment it's hard to see what is happening as it can't connect to the server...

I'll leave it awhile and see how it matches 2 nodes...

I've run it both ways, and have better production running two nodes- I believe Supp is right; the extra node getting work is better.

At the moment it's running 2 nodes with each having processor=2 - seem to be getting fairly decent speeds from that...I'll do a bit more testing to see what (if any) affect this has...

more nodes is always better with CB
CB only uses the CPU a tiny portion of the time, even on a very old PC, so the more boxen you have the more points you make, regardless of speed

I'm in the the 2 cpu 2 node camp. I run 2 comand line ver on my W2KP dually. I don't have the info still but I did run the 1 node / 2 cpu option on the service install and the numbers where less than the 2/cpu 2/node.

One Instance per CPU is best.

Also edit the conf file and set the priority to normal.
