I restarted the service on all my machines to stop them from crunching on the old protein until they tried to upload again. Several had already updated themselves successfully. I had 2 that failed, and did those manually. Not perfect, but a vast improvement over the last attempts.

How can I tell if my client updated automatically. I'm running it as a win2k service.

That's a good question! I looked at progress.txt, if the completed and remaining added up to 10,000 I figured it was ok.

My boxen at work updated semiflawlessly and I'm thinkin', "Yeah! we got a handle on it this time!" I get home and nothin's runnin'! What a bummer!

Then I noticed...my cable's down! Hello, GTE. Oops, I mean Verizon. So, I'll be back up to speed in a day or two. Hopefully.

The change over went ok here, but I cannot quit the client?

Pressing "Q" no longer works??

Anybody else seen this?

ScreenSaver appeared to auto-update properly (it is remote, but the stats reflect its production).

Two of the NT services here at home autoupdated, the third may well have, before I was an idiot and manually installed it. The instance running CLI prompted for an update and when I accepted, it updated properly.

Vast improvement.

The one of my clients that didn't update properly was a 21. March version too.

Ahhh! Back in the fold.

Get it? Anyone? Back in the fold!? Ha? Ho ho?

Oh well, up again, thanks to John from Verizon, who said I had dirty splitters! Can you imagine? Neither box at home auto'ed properly --- my fault, March 21 version. All correct & crunching now.

Two NT services auto-updated and switched over fine, the third I THINK did, but I didn't realize this and installed the client again on this computer (had already deleted the old service and files before realizing that it might have auto-updated, oops). One CLI client that I forgot to install autoupdate.txt on prompted me to accept the digitally signed bs and then properly updated itself and did its thing. One install of the screensaver also apparently updated properly.

Large improvement. Hopefully the worst is behind us. Also, hopefully he can figure out the remaining .exe auto-update issues before have to actually update the client and not just the proteins, etc.
