Howard/Elena -

I've been running DF for a long while on several machines without a problem. However, one box seems to be having troubles.

I re-started the client at 8:25 this morning, and almost immediately, began getting the following in the logs:

Mon Feb 9 08:25:40 2004 ERROR: [000.000] {foldtrajlite2.c, line 4785} File ./xxxxxxxx_35_xxxxxxxx_protein_134_0000084_min.val is corrupt, missing or has been tampered with; cannot continue - replace file and start again, or manually delete filelist.txt
Mon Feb 9 08:25:40 2004 ERROR: [000.000] {foldtrajlite2.c, line 4933} Error during upload: Data file checksum failed

Mon Feb 9 08:31:30 2004 ERROR: [000.000] {foldtrajlite2.c, line 4933} Error during upload: Data file checksum failed
Mon Feb 9 08:37:56 2004 ERROR: [000.000] {foldtrajlite2.c, line 4785} File ./xxxxxxxx_35_xxxxxxxx_protein_134_0000084_min.val is corrupt, missing or has been tampered with; cannot continue - replace file and start again, or manually delete filelist.txt

The client is running -it. This is not the first time it's happened. I can always stop the client, run ./foldtrajlite -purgeuploadlist 1, then upload all the data. Once I restart the client, back into the same from above.

Pertinent information:
AMD XP1800
Crucial 2100 DDR (tested good with memtest86 and several runs of Prime95)
/dev/hda3 36G 7.0G 27G 21% / (the partition with DF on it)

The machine is behind a cable connection, so it always has a connection available.

I have reinstalled the client three times up to now. Other suggestions?

Other than -purgeuploadlist a few times, or deleting filelist.txt altogether, no suggestions at the moment. The new backend we will be testing should eliminate this problem...*fingers crossed*

Same here.... makes it hard to determine of one of my machines is down because of it.

Hope for the best.

This error does happen every now and then, reason unknown.

I think I already posted temporarily fix for it in another topic, but here it goes again:

Delete the offending file, get another *.min.val file from the same directory or another system running DF, then copy it so that it has same name as just deleted file. You should be able to proceed uploading normally, without any work/points lost, and without starting from generation 0.
