Or more specifically, when do i get to pick the little text that comes up under my icon? i assume it's a certain number of posts. will the option just show itself when i hit that number?

You should be able to change your title now.

To do this click "user cp" at top of page.

Now click on "Edit Profile".

Scroll down until you see the section headed "Custom User Text" and enter your desired title in the "New Title" box.

Remember to save the changes :)

Can't remember the exact number of posts, but yes your title will auto change.
