In the southern hemisphere the situation is reversed. I gained an extra hour's sleep and enjoyed it very much. But if I'm cranky in six months time you'll know why.

I wonder what the TV stations do when they lose that hour? Do they show whatever's scheduled for that hour six months later? Or do they just say, It's 3 in the morning. The insomniacs can live without Futurama for one week

Just on that note the Forum is now reporting the time one hour out - It is 11:19AM here (GMT +10) but the Forum is reporting 12:19PM.

Do I need to reset my Forum preferences to GMT +9?

The time on the forum is still an hour off.

All times are GMT. The time now is 10:44 AM.
It's not. It's 9:44 GMT. Could this be fixed? :)

It is the correct time here. Maybe it is based off your "location" in the user cp, or your regional settings in Windows?

All times are GMT -5 hours. The time now is 06:30 AM.

Your time is probably correct because of summertime. (ie: you're in GMT-5+1 = GMT-4)

The current time is Sun Apr 18 10:44:46 GMT 2004. No matter what this forum claims. :)

Perhaps the time is off because it's 'automatically' adding an hour for summertime itself, but this is incorrect behaviour as summertime doesn't happen everywhere, and doesn't even start at the same time in all places where it's used. GMT is an example of a timezone that doesn't do summertime.

(oh, and I'm not using Windows :P)

The show is actually broadcast as usual. The problem occurs because it's being shown during the phase shift, so it goes into hypertime. Because the phase shift is exactly one hour, that hour, with everything that happened during it, is "carried forward", sort of like a packet gone missing on the internet.

Fortunately, in the fall, the phase shift reverses. This creates a time-vacuum effect that sucks the missing hour back into the normal flow of things. At precisely that time, you will remember having seen the "missing" episode and/or whatever else may have been happening, but didn't, sort of.

Aren't you glad you asked? Simple, see? :D

I have to agree with Onno - the forum is reporting the incorrect time. It's an hour out. Can we fix it?

:|ot|: Speaking of Futurama, there are rumors that the reruns have done so well, that they're considering making new episodes again...
