How long does it take to sieve out 1 billion?

On this page (http://www.aooq73.dsl.pipex.com/) under the section "the sieving clients", there is a rough giude to speed that reads as follows..

As a rough guide, a 100G range will take 3 days on an AMD XP2100+, 6 days on a P3-850 and 15 days on a P2-400. Again, as a rough guide, if that 100G range is around p=200T, expect it to yield about 10 factors.

Hope that helps.

Also remember 1 G is equivalent to 1 billion

1 024 * 1 024 * 1 024 = 1 073 741 824

no, in sieving we use 1G equal to 1 billion.

i.e. , when reserving

240000-240300 Username [reserved]

you mean, you will sieve from 240,000,000,000,000 to 240,300,000,000,000
