Take a look:

What is the difference between the "collision of the compress function of MD5" and the collision that MD5CRK is searching for?

The compression function is an internal part of the MD5 algorithm. So finding a collision in the compression function was the first sign that MD5 might not be that great. That in itself doesn't break the algorithm though.

MD5CRK is trying to find a collision in the entire MD5 algorithm.
