Mail client for mucho emails

I have a friend who is currently using VMS mail and badly needs a more full-featured client. The gotcha is, she has a lot of email in her box. Probably in excess of 3000 emails. Does anyone know of an IMAP client that can handle this without too much trouble? I've used some good email clients where the weak link seemed to be the IMAP support. OE/Outlook (not sure which) reportedly couldn't handle it (any surprise there? :eek: ) didn't think so. Any ideas?

Thunderbird (http://www.mozilla.org/products/thunderbird/) has handled everything I've thrown at it, including a 19,000 file IMAP folder... Mutt (http://mutt.org/) is a great command-line client that just has to be configured to use IMAP.

Let me know if you need help with the mutt config should you go that route.
