Hi Free-DC,

Tellian has created som overall cross project team stats right here:
http://dc.lusers.net/compare.html

To make the stats more precise and complete, he needs some benchmarks from Distributed Folding.

What he needs to know is how many structures a 1Ghz Athlon (or something close to that - a 1.1Ghz or a 900Mhz) can generate in 24 hours.

Are there anyone here with such a machine?

what operating system?

that makes a difference with DF

i have a 1 Ghz 200Mhz fsb Athlon running PC2100 DDR ram

Ahhh....of course - I haven't thought of that.

Do you know how much faster the Linux version is? I don't think the difference is that big.

Anyway, I would believe the majority is running the windows client, so wouldn't that be the most accurate result?

I would think that a windows result would be more accurate since the majority of Distributed Folding users run it.

yes it is

check the database we did on the yahoo forum
it was a pretty big difference

the box has winXP on it now, i'll do it with that tonight and if you want it configured any other way, let me know

you want zero other usage/dedicated crunching? or can i let my kids use it a little/partial usage?

I don't think letting your kids play a little will matter much.

Thanks for doing it!

sorry for the delay

keep in mind that is just for this protein, each one will vary, i guess we'll be on this one for about 8 more weeks? or so

Thanks a lot FoBoT - I'll forward this information :)

Yes, we will change to a new protein someday and a new benchmark needs to be done.

Thanks Fobot, I didn't have anything close enough to 1ghz to be of much help. Maybe we can get another couple ghz K7 results from somewhere but your data is likely to be about as accurate as we will get without getting a massive sample set. ;)

I will try to keep you posted on his results once he adds DF in.

Ok, got DF added on a trial basis on a temporary page. It's temporary at the moment because of the huge wonkyness that was caused by all the team-jumpage in the past 24 hours. The sort of thing that makes 30 day averages fall over and beat their heads. (you know, the 280 million structures in one day sort of thing)

At any rate.

temp overall page including DF (http://dc.lusers.net/compare2.html)

Rejoice! FreeDC finally shows up in the top 50

Tellian: welcome to hell, KWSN likes to bounce a couple hundred million results around at times to play with the rest of us. I am not sure if Free-DC's new member is permanent or a joke as well, guess I better go check that thread and find out.

Thanks Tellian.
