When you are running the client in GUI mode, there is a choice to go offline. Right click on the icon in windows and it will show something called online in the menu, click on the thing that says offline and it will go offline. Just be careful to download 2000 work units at once before going offline.

Why wait till about a week? If we all start early, then we will get to pass the Yogurts earlier.

Like the saying goes, early to bed, early to rise, will make me a very very dull person... or something along those lines.

/me off to get some morning coffee.

FaD @ Heart. We have to worry about the DPC over on FaD.

I havent seen them respond to our increased production yet, but i think i will switch to another project after the monthy dump to help hold of DPC on another front.

They don't need to do so because of the huge lead they have. Do not underestimated their power.

They've noticed.... if you translate their forums, but as you say they have a huge lead, but that just makes targetting them more fun :)

They are pushing out close to 40,000 per day in TSC anyway during their recent push. TSC units seem to take a little less time than D2OL so I'd translate that as ~32000 D2OL units.

We're outpacing DPC is daily productin as of right now. It's not IMPOSSIBLE to take them over, but just a REALLY REALLY long process to do so.

Back the the gap to Ars topic though...

38K MORE TO GO!

At their current production levels, we'll have caught up to them within the next 50K or less!

So says Mooses, the better-than-Foztradamus prophet. :)

Fozzie, i'm just messin' w/ ya (ever played Scrabble-moose yet?).

We have under 10,000 candidates to go until we pass TFY!!!

We are producing 30,000+ candidates per day!

Hopefully we will be past TFY by the early hours of Saturday!!!

Yay!

I hope to see a new thread gloating the overtake of TFY.

And when we pass them, we need some help from D2OL guys to fend off DPC, hardCOREware in FaD.

Thanks!

Norway is next.

Eh, so ya pass us. We will eventually pass you and take the spot back, as we all know that Free-DC will and cannot keep so much CPU power on project forever.

FaD is something that I will be looking into.

I watched the stats from 8pm thru Midnight, then midnight thru 3am. I just did a little bit of math and predicted a time. I wanted to say 7-8 but I thought that was a bit hasty (I tried anticpating a 1-2 member semi-large dump which would have put us closer to 9am).

Anywayz, I'm glad my prediction was close. Too bad I had to work and miss the pass...D2OL will get 3 more days of production out of me before I stop the client and switch back to FaD. We're hurting pretty bad over there.

Congrats Everyone!

Make me feel bad why don't you IronBits?

Guess I'll just have to promise to put my next computer on D2OL. ;)

I am thinking of potentially loading a DC project onto my dad's computer, but his AMD system runs quite hot. He's got an AMD Athlon XP 1900+ in there that runs at 50C w/o full system load. I'm afraid to put a DC project on there.

He was having those overheating problems b4 and it took forever to fix that stupid computer.

My g/f's computer will probably get finished in January/February. That'll be a Sempron 2500 system (unless I decide to make hers a DUALLY!).

Hope we can keep up production levels above every1 else.

-Jeff

P.S. We may have to call some of you to arms to help us in FaD. The DPC are catching up really quickly. It seems they are taking advantage of us not focusing on FaD as much as we are D2OL.

PY 222
11-22-2004, 02:25 PM
50C isn't all that bad, believe me.

I've got CPUs that are burning hot at 55-60C and they are working flawlessly. No problems whatsoever.

Mr Moose, I will put a box on FAD next weekend. I will run it for a week to get a feel for it. Any tweaks etc that will help, W2K AMD 3200XP.

To Helix: You can't really tweak FaD...

It's very dumb-person DC project. You could be dumb and run it that is.

Download, Install, Pick a Username, enter e-mail address, click the ADVANCED button, goto the GENERAL tab and enter the team number (2020). If you have a constant internet connection set the Internet Connection plan to "Selecting all jobs" (will upload every time after a job is complete). Goto the projects tab and pick all of the diseases you would like to do work for (though not all have active targets right now, you can find live targets on the FaD website under Statistics->Live Targets). If you don't want a systray icon just goto the Options tab and deselect it. It'll run anonymously in the background. :)

Don't forget to hit Register/Save button after you've done all that.

Can't wait to see ya! hardCOREware is making a bigger push than DPC it seems now. I think they are afraid of being overtaken too.

@ Moose

I had an XP 1800+ before....

They are specifid to run up to 85-90°C depending on which stepping it is exactly...

Mine ran fine for weeks at 70C during the summer.. (that was full load doing DC stuff)

So watch it a while under load and then kick it!
