we need BOK to let us know what the times/dates are at the moment, and if we can do it.
i could switch one more box over to it, was going to go from UD grid to CPD later today.

:D okay BOK what is the time scale on this one, and who are USD anyway sounds like a bunch of loosers:D:Pokes: :D

32 million behind and out producing them by 23 million a week.

Looks like 1.5 weeks to me so could be tight to get 'em for Christmas.

Big push everyone.

I've discarded all the old clients and reinstalled FaD form fresh on 2 P4s and 6 P3s. Up until New Year.

We will definitely have them by then but Fozstradamus said Christmas and as you know he's never wrong. :Pokes:

If Fozstradamus says by Christmas, then we must do something.

I'll add another few servers onto FaD after work tonight.

I lost an XP600+ a day or two ago - victim of multiple power outages/surges in a short period last week.

Not sure what's wrong yet - but will try to get it back online ASAP.

The rest of the HT pharm is happily crunching molecules.

23.8 million and we are closing by 2.5 million a day.

That's 9.5 days which isn't quick enough

:whip: them puppies.

And as you know a puppy isn't just for Christmas.:D

Deployed 2 P4 2.8s and an HT 3GHZ they looked so forlorn just sitting there with no courses.

If my calculations are right and we keep the current speed we will reach #12 in a month. And nobody is chasing us right now.

Team Rechenkraft.net is ~35.000.000 GFlops ahead of us and we are 10.000.000 GFlps/week faster.

So, stomp US Distributed before christmas and the rest soon afterwards.

Well, depends on where you're from.

When I read (on Dec 23.) Fozzie wanting our team to overtake US distributed "before" Christmas i thought: "well, how are we supposed to do that before Christmas? Christmas is on Dec 24th, that's in a few hours from now". After a few minutes of thinking it came to my mind that he meant Christmas day; Dec 25th.

Here in Austria (and I suppose other parts of Europe too) Christmas is celebrated on the evening of Dec 24; With "celebrate" I mean "children getting their presents". Since the US and UK and others celebrate on Dec 25 that's when you suppose Christmas to be.

Well, cultural differences ...

So: happy Christmas everyone!

Besides that, do you know why mathematicians always mistake Halloween for Christmas? Cause Dec 25 = Oct 31. A pity this joke doesn't work with our Christmas (on Dec 24.)

wirthi,

It was a joke.

About Christmas/Jesus Birth I think you should read this (http://www.christmas-time.com/cp-hist.html) and this (http://www.christmas-time.com/ct-jesus.htm). The spanish celebrate Christmas on January 6th.

Well then Carlos, we could've made Fostrodamus correct any which way so long as we went off the Spanish X-mas!!!

CaptainMooseInc,

To be honest about Spanish Cristmas you should read this (http://www.californiamall.com/holidaytraditions/traditions-spain.htm).

It is not Santa who comes to Spain bearing gifts, but the Three Wise Men. The Spanish Christmas continues for a few weeks after Dec. 25th. On the Eve of Epiphany, January 5th, children place their shoes on the doorstep, and in the secret of the night, the Three Wise Men pass leaving gifts. January 6th, Epiphany is heralded with parades in various cities where candy and cakes are distributed to throngs of children.

Here in Austria originally there was no "Santa Clause" neither. We used to have the "Christkind" ("Christ-Child", the young Jesus) bring our presents. On the evening of December 24th suddenly the "Christkind" visits your house, puts up a christmas tree and all the presents somewhere in an extra room. Then it rings a bell, and the children go to that room and find the presents. This room is usually locked all day so the Christkind is not interrupted when it comes to the house ...

Nowadays Coca-Cola makes us believe in Santa Clause, too :)

Yes, we will. In fact, we already are: we overtook mauisun.org and are now #13. Rechenkraft.net could be done in two days or so.

The next targets will be harder to get but since we are currently #3 in weekly production none but two are out of reach right now.

Of course not; I was just talking about things that will happen if we keep up our current work.

I also hope we're able to attract more people with more computing power to take part in this project - with Free-DC printed on their flag.

lets do it then, raid the forums for like prime numbers or sumin. No offense to those projects but i dont think there gonna help find cures for anything.

wirthi, this is off-topic but can you please let the people at Rechenkraft.net know that their forum software (phpBB) is prone to a very widespread exploit and that they must upgrade to the latest version (2.0.11).

But can you keep up this pace? Or a better question would be can you step up your output more then it is now?

We can easily double our score. The problem here is that FreeDC is not dedicated to one project but to several. Look at D2OL, EON, DPAD, OGR, RC-72, etc, stats and you will see us there crunching. We share our resources to a bunch of projects.

We all could try running FAD for a week to see our output...

And welcome to Free-DC forum.
