I have one of these mobos
Chipset is Via KM400/400A with onboard network, 5.1 sound, Video
Support x8 Agp etc..
Sometimes, just sometimes I get a incorrect CPU temp read.
I got a XP2200+ running in it (darn thing had run long enough for Win98se - I know but it I know it all works lol - to trip it's total CPU on time counter) I needed to reset it to modify the Network speed to fix it at 100 Full Duplex . On reset all worked fine then after maybe 20-30 minutes my monitor program alerted me by beeping the main speaker, wondered what it was. Remote Admin'd it & noticed it was running at 69 Deg C - so shut down D2oL and run CPU Idle Extreme while I hunted for Screwdriver to get the side panel off sharpish noticed it went down to like 56 C and hung there for a while
I obviously though "ack" fan Fail or failing but no it wasn't loaded up MBM 5 and about 2 updates later once I got it's dashboard up CPU temp suddenly reads 35 C
Anyone Any Ideas as to why the funk it should do this
