:rotfl: I'm sure I can't take on a one man team ;) :) :notworthy

Umm, I have a Dual Xeon 3.6GHz Nocona Server and an AMD64 FX55 here at home. :p :moon: :D

I'm just a little ole home grown gardner now a days, with a BIG little brother who stepped up to the challenge and picked up my slack when I shutdown over 20 boxen here at home, due to very high California electricity rates, and my health...
I guess having 20+ 7,000 rpm fans in my bedroom did me in

But, ya better keep an eye on me, as I do have some :fight: left in me :jester:

At one time, with my family borged boxen that I gave them, and thanks to my oldest brother who keeps them all running, except for TeeJay of course, who bought his own 20+ boxen he maintains himself, we had damn near 100GHz. :smoking:

I don't know what we have any more, but if I had to guess, I'd say we have over 50-60 GHz or so active.
More if I used VNC to hit all the family boxen and fire most of them back up.

I'll be bringing on line a couple of Dual Intel Xeon 1.6GHz to the lineup for these darn math projects this coming week-end, to help get Free-DC up the ranks, so that will be an additional 6.4GHz here at home.

If I had to guess, I'd gander we have approximately 40GHz on this project right now... but I don't have enough fingers and toes to count that high
:rotfl:

 See ya at the top one of these days.

:neener: Ya sure you don't want to join us? :D

I know there are members of TGC that crunch side projects for other teams but I've gotten TGC to within a smidgen of the top ten at DPAD and I'd kinda like to break into it.

Sounds like you've got a fair selection running. Mine's a lot easier.

23 x 2.4GHZ P4
1 x 933 P3
1 x 2.4GHZ AMD XP
1 x 2.3GHZ AMD XP

60.833GHz in total.

The AMDs uplaod on their own but the rest needs harvesting. Sometimes I'll let them run for a few days but generally I upload every week day with a big one on Mondays to catch up the weekend.

I reckon you'll need to ramp up to catch me tho :p

Get the place cleaned up, we'll be there soon. :p ;)

That's a very nice P4 pharm! :notworthy

Sorry to hear you have to harvest as that has to be a pita.

The harvesting isn't too bad. They're all running as a service using srvany.exe so each one gets stopped in turn, the results.txt copied off, the service re-started and then I combine the results.txt files into a single one for manualsending off-line.

So you've added some more have you? "You realise this means war!"

/me goes off to do some homework... ;)

:scared: You've been found, but not wanting :p ;)

P3-933, 256MB, part-time
43 P4-2400, part-time
2 x Xeon-933, 2GB, NT4S
XP1700 at 2400, XP-Pro
XP2100 at 2278

110GHz give-or-take

Subtract 13 P4-2400s 'part time' and you get 30 'full time' :)

Without peeking, your's is bigger than mine

Interesting info. I was about to say that's remarkably like what I used to have and then realised where you'd got it from :D

Yeah, the farm has been as high as that plus some slow big iron. That was fine for DF because it was easy to run as a service. I copied the startup/shutdown/harvest scripts from JoeProCooling and got some great results. With DPAD, it's not so easy to keep prying eyes away from what's there so I only run on unused machines which is waht's higher up the thread.

If I could run DPAD in the same ways I ran DF the numbers would be around 0.6TPts per day

MuonCMD and Hideit might be just the ticket your looking for then ;)

MuonCMD runs the client with -c option, then forces it into a tray icon.
HideIt will hide the tray icon :jester:

HaloJones,

How may instances are you running per P4 HT?
I think it is quicker to run two instances of DPAD. Create two folders for each instance and in the config.txt file change number of threads to 1 instead of auto.

My P4s aren't HT-capable :(

As for MuonCMD and HideIT my users are tech-savvy developers who know how to use Task Manager and have local admin rights so they can also see Services.msc. With DF's genuine service capability it was possible to run a scheduled batch file to create the service, run it, stop it and delete the service so that it only ever appeared at night.

With DPAD, it can run as a service with srvany from the ntreskit but it is awkward to say the least) to script an auto-install and de-install. That means leaving the service on each box and scheduling the starting and stopping. Possible to do but the users would still see the service. I could call it something subtle but I'd rather not piss them off.

Gee, that's to bad :p ;)

Of course, this is not a one man team, so who knows who might show up to the dance, to make sure Free-DC beats you there ;) :D

:Pokes: Free-DC team mates

/me steps out for a friendly gauntlet over on FAD.
HaloJones - you should come throw down on the 'Borg' Team...
I promise the assimilation process is totally pain free, and we could use your help  (2 weeks)

You know I can't do that. Without any DPAD production for two weeks, you can kiss goodbye to my :moon:
